Those friends don't have to be nudists themselves. Me getting undressed in front of friends is equivalent to searching for problems because those non nudist friends may be shocked by a friend getting undressed.
Also, how can I ensure that some of those friends don't perv on me by taking unauthorized pictures of videos of me being nude? Those pictures will invariably find themselves on the depth of the internet on some dark porn site.
First of all, I would not tell anyone that I am a nudist just because of the potential for harassment and objectification that such a confession brings along.

It depends on the friend. Are they friends from our clothing optional resort, sure no problem either way.
Marge from church who would pass out if she saw any nudity, then no way. That would not be respectful of her views on life/privacy.

In college I let a few friends know I was a nudist, and some of them did join me occasionally. A few told me I could be nude around them and they wouldn't mind. Luckily my roommate was willing to join me nude, although I was nude far more often than him. Now that I'm an adult there's fewer friends I'll go nude around unless I know they're a nudist already, but I have had a few friends join my wife and I nude in the hot tub, for example. And a few nude camping.
Being naked is much more comfortable to me compared to wearing clothing. So if I have any idea the company I am in might accept it, I will bring up the topic.

Some places nude walks are okay. But trying on clothes in a store with the curtains open would likely get you kicked out. The stores don't like that (even if all the guys do like it, lol)

I worked with a girl who asked me what I did over the weekend, and I told her I went to the lake. She asked me which lake, and I told her. She said it was the same lake that she goes to. She asked if I've ever been to a certain resort on the lake. I told her that I've heard of it, but never been there. She said her and her boyfriend would go there once in a while. I thought that it was cool how open and honest she was about it.
