11 35You can't just "try" a fetish. It's ingrained into the person's psychology. That'd be like "trying" straightness rather than staying gay. If people can just up and become fetishists, then people who're already fetishists would be equally able to stop being fetishists; the fact that we have so many problems with fetishes (People getting eaten, animals getting abused, etc.) indicates that they cannot.
Completely agree, fetisheses (How do you pluralise fetish?) aren't like hats, you don't just go choose one to wear for the day, the are deep seated sexual desires.
Sure you can 'try' a fetish - date someone who has one and you can experience what it's like to be a part of that fetish. It's called the fetishization of desires. Plus you never know what you can unlock in your psyche...
Technically, If I unlocked a fetish in my psyche, then I had always had that fetish, just without realizing it.
