Do you think you can control the type of people you're attracted to? Saw a question about pedophilia yesterday and this got me thinking. If we can't control who we're attracted to, why are we so harsh on pedophiles? Why don't we help them with this issue instead of wishing them the worse? To clarify, I'm completely against pedophilia, I'm disgusted about it, but if there's nothing we can do to control who we're attracted to, if we can't force ourselves to be attracted to "this" instead of "that", shouldn't we treat pedophiles in a different way? Note: The poll is to answer the question from the title.

A person can change their own perspective at will, though many will say they cannot. I believe this is because of a lack of will, or a lack of understanding of the will>brain>body symbiotic relationship.
We as people can control our attraction but there are no promises saying we must other than what society deems right. I am completely against pedophilia, first hand experience. But surprisingly pedophilia is now classified as a mental illness. I have no doubt that societies views towards pedophiles are already changing. Germany is one of the first places to begin the process of rehabilitation for these individuals. It won't be long until the world follows suit. However naturally there will be resistance because people can relate to children getting raped, by simply placing themselves in their shoes. Rightfully so.
I am attracted to a shitton of people, so it is just a matter of zeroing in on what I really want.

pedophiles like the idea of sleeping with a baby because they are twisted nothing more or less stop saying we should help. they can control it but its because as children they were hated so they only find love from kids and that turns them into pedos
Yes I do believe that we can control to whom we are attracted to, by simply going for the second best thing available.
Then eventually our attraction to things we should not be attracted to, will fade away.
If anyone begs to differ and says attraction is uncontrollable, I won't redicule them but will definitely tell them... that attraction may not be controlled but actions surely could be.

No. :). Love just happens then it never ends unless if a blip pops up on that unending line of happiness. :P. Then the reality will be brought back to you. ;P. Yet it is addicting so you will end up falling in love all over again so yeah there is my two cents for you over here too so. ;).
