I hate beards with a passion, how about you?

I have always hated my facial hair since the day I have got it. I make it sure to shave my face regularly unless I get sick or something.
I hate to see other men keeping beards , but obviously I can't tell them to shave it for me. So I just deal with it, it's not like I have to touch there beard , so I manage it.

Slight stubble looks ok, but is really bad and hurts to touch.

Beards are useless in my opinion and I look forward to a day when men NEVER get beard/ facial hair like women.

  • You won't live to see the day when facial hair is a thing of the past.

    But keeping facial hair is cyclical, at least it is in the U. S.

    There is some evidence that beard prevalence fluctuates as women's interest in them peaks and fades. And this cycle tends to have to do with beard saturation.

    When most men have beards women will tend to gain attraction to clean shaven men as they are seen as different. As this trend builds men will start to shed facial hair in order to attract the opposite sex.

    Making way for the clean shaven era.

    Then of course, women start to look at the guys who got something going on in the facial hair area.

    And the cycle repeats.

    The prior full beard cycle was in the 70's, this was followed by a very clean shaven 80's. Of course Don Johnson stood out because of his stubble. Then in to the 90's we get goatees soul patches, and the stubble look. This continues until we hit today with the lumberjack look being in full force.

    by the way, I am not fond of facial hair myself but when my grandmother was dying I had to spend time in the north of the state and went a week or so without shaving. My wife decided she liked it and now I have a full beard. It is not long but she talked me in to growing out a handlebar mustache.

    If she changed her mind I wold be in the bathroom in an instant to clean it all off.

    • It's okay that your wife likes it. But are you comfortable keeping it on your face? Isn't it hard to wash the face properly?

    • In general, we over wash in a lot of ways. I skip washing my face a couple fo times a week and instead just rinse it off. I also have three different facial cleansers that I alternate using. Sticking to the same one can often increase how greasy or dry it feels. For the days when I scrub the beard area I have a beard conditioner to replace the natural chemicals that make the hair soft. Eating is actually the hardest part. And drinking really. often I will get a mouth full of mustache when trying to get a mouthful of food.

  • For my part I split the difference. From about October till just before Easter, I have a beard. Then I shave it off just before the holiday and go clean shaven through the warm weather months.

    My girlfriend likes a guy with chest hair - which I have - but she is not big on beards. That said, she generally likes it well enough, although she is ready to see it go by the time I shave it. (I kind of agree, there is something nice about feeling the breeze on your face.)

    The fun part thought is our kids. While I have the beard I get, "Daddy, you're scratchy." So I rub their tummys (lightly) with my beard and they laugh and giggle. Then, just before Easter I go into the bathroom with a full beard and come out clean shaven - and they get all excited.

    Frankly, I don't know how good I look with my beard, but just to get that squeal of happiness makes it all worthwhile.

    By the way, I voted "No beard," but that is at the margin.

  • It all depends on the guy. I dont like long bushy beards but a well kept short go-T or beard can be ok. Some people look better with a little facial hair. If you have a weak chin or an odd shaped face or jowls facial hair can help hide it. My boyfriend has a weak chin and jowls so I tell him to keep a go-T to help make his chin look more pronounced. If you have a nice face than I think you should definitely shave and show it off.

  • I don’t like beards either. I have nothing against those who decided to keep it though. On some men it may look sexy but I personally don’t find it attractive. I’ve always liked boys with little to no facial hair.
    My boyfriend always shaves his beard and I’m so glad he does. His face is sooo clean and soft, I love it:3

    • Not really.. Hair is there for a reason. It’s your choice if u wanna keep it or not. That’s why we have so many hair removal tools and some people choose to use them, some people don’t, and that’s okay. It is their life. Most men like their beard because without it they think they’d look too childish and that’s not what they want.

  • My opinion is... You have an issue. It's a natural thing - facial hair and if I would be a guy probably I would leave it... As shaving must be very much annoying and sometimes not pleasant
