Is tucking your erection into your waistband common?

To keep the question short, I wanted to know whether it was a common thing to to this among guys and whether or not you'd want to be told by someone, specifically a girl, if it had become visible by your shirt riding up a little. For context there's a guy I'm friends with and while together at university, I noticed something poking out of his waistband. It was only on looking closer I realised what it was, and looking around it seemed nobody else had seen it. Unsure what to do I nudged him, and pointed down, to which he responded by adjusting it and covering it but he never said a word about it and neither did I. I'm not sure I did the right thing by pointing it out and embarrassing him, maybe I should have left him to figure it out himself. Either way it's the first time I've ever come across this as a thing so I'm curious about how common it is, and whether I made the right decision.

It's very common. Tucking is the best way to hide an erection.

i do sometimes depending on the surrounding... either way being big is noticable

Never happen to me. But probably better you told him than having him face a lot more embarrassing situation.
