In many states in the US, they already can. But you'll find that few actually do, at least in the places mentioned. Many do at the beach, or in places that are somewhat less public or with fewer older children around.

@verylovelyguy Go there on 4th of July when it's hot and there's lots of booze, and there will be more. LOL But New Jersey hardly counts, anymore than Oregon counts. Things are different on more southern beaches where it's hotter a lot more of the year and there's a much bigger beach culture. Of course the majority of women still won't be topless, but there will be more who are.

Oregon counts! Not so much at the coast, but there are many clothing optional beaches along the Columbia River, and some of them get very crowded in the summer.

@Red_Arrow I meant the ocean beaches. I can't speak to the rivers, though the rivers in Northern California have better and more relaxed beaches than most of the ocean beaches. You have to get down to California's central coast to get to the better ocean beaches.

I think I’d be more worried about the male response than the mere sight of topless women in public😂 We should probably be evolved past seeing female breasts as primarily sexual body parts, but I’m not very impressed by humanity in general, so I don’t think we are😂😂😂

I’m neatly 46, but obviously still oblivious to the dangers of breasts. I saw my mums as a kid when she breastfed my siblings and literally every other mother of babies, so I don’t get it. It must be an American thing
