I'm not sure TBH. I mean studies have shown that fatherless comes with some "issues" (although fatherlessness is usually correlated with other factors such as poverty so the impact isn't as bad as a cursory glance at the numbers would show). However, this doesn't mean that most or all of the problems that usually come with fatherlessness can't be overcome by careful preparation and planning on the part of the mother (even if most single mothers don't). But I haven't seen enough information to convince me as to whether or not the usual shortcomings of a fatherless upbringing can be made up for or not to convince me on way or another.
