In a world where sex is for pure immediate pleasurable gratification it's no wonder some choose to skip common and effective contraceptives.
After all, the goal is for it to feel as great as possible. They don't considered STDs or pregnancy because long-term thinking is required to be wary of those issues.

I've known a few guys who ended up having children by girls they were having causal sex with. both thought the girls were using birth control since they told them so. one even said he would use condoms regardless. but either the girls both lied to get knocked up on propose or their birth control failed. so they had to decade what to do after the guys both wanted them to abort. but both girls opted to keep the children which made the guys have to stay with them and/or pay child support. because guys don't currently have a real options to opt out of legal responsibilities when it comes to raising a child. short of running away from the whole thing and never interacting with the girl or child again. sadly the courts can still track a guy down and force him to pay her support in many cases. so the moral is don't fool around with people your not ready to start a family with.

The only difference between STDs and pregnancy is one is natural, the other isn’t. I don't know I think it’s just time for people to move to states where their policies align or just be more responsible with contraception.

Good question. That type of preventative measures makes good logical sense. Nothing is foolproof though. If you are going to do it you need to be adult enough to deal with the consequences.
