Hey guys! With the results of poll here is the take as promised. I got so close to equal response for two takes I decided to do something different. This take was most requested by men. I will be writing the one most girls chose later today.
First things first I have to make obligatory credits for the voters:
@LouisvilleGirl826 (Huh I wonder if she actually lives in Kentucky. Maybe she knows my ex-fiance :P ) @Fathoms77 @Spiorad_Aisce The rest are anons or didn't comment so I don't know they're usernames. I'm sure they'll find their way here.
So let's look at why I find women who dress conservatively attractive shall we?
First we need to determine what a woman who dresses conservatively even looks like.
Jeans + shoes + T-Shirt = conservative.
Women, when men say they want conservative they mean that. Not this...
That's Amish for those wondering. That isn't attractive girls. You know that, I know that. That's not what men want you to look like when they say "Dress conservatively"
The want you to look like this...
That's what we mean by conservative. It's really not that hard to accomplish. If you look like this...
...You may attract more attention but then you can't complain about only being seen as a sex object. That's why I say "If you dress like a slut prepare to get treated like one" this particular model isn't going to be seen as a person. She's advertising her body as something to be desired. Therefore people are going to desire it. They aren't going to enjoy her body and personality equally because to me dressing like this screams "I slept with every boy over the age of 14 in a 10 mile radius!"
Now don't get me wrong, I like to look at women but I find the conservative more attractive. Some of you who came here for an opinion from me instead of a brief lesson in social misconceptions this is the part you're here for!
So why do I find women who dress conservatively more attractive?
1: It shows self respect and confidence
There's nothing more sexy to me than self respect. Enough said really. I can't honestly see Girl 2 having high self esteem and I wouldn't believe she would remain faithful. I can see Girl 1 being confident, successful, loyal, mature, and parent material. Girl 2? Not so much.
2: It gives an air of mystery
Let's face it girls. When someone sees you or you see someone else you judge them by appearance. It's not demeaning. It's not sexist. It's just how people work. When the girls are hanging out of your top and your shorts are so short they should be considered underwear it's not as exciting. You can already basically see everything. When she's standing in Wranglers or Silvers and a blouse or T-Shirt on with a beer in her hand? I know what I want to see but she's dressed conservatively so I go nuts. Mentally undressing her then dressing her back up before I go talk to her.
3: She immediately looks like you can bring her home
Get your mind out of the gutter! I mean bring her home to meet the parents. Contrary to popular belief men care about family a LOT more than we let on. Usually more than women. Having your Mother and Father approve of your girlfriend is make or break for most men. A woman who doesn't walk around half naked with her ass and tits shaking looks like a more viable candidate for passing mum and dads testing.
So how do YOU dress Jarhead? Can you live up to your own expectation?
Some of you might be thinking "He's throwing a lot of things out there and he seems to expect a lot. Can he meet his own standard?" The short answer?
You tell me :P
(Yes, yes I can meet my own standard. That's me in the picture if you couldn't tell)
Anyways guys, this is me stating my preference. I'm not trying to speak for all men or start some kind of flame war over this. Just stating my preferences and giving my reasons for having them.
Cheers!
~Jarhead
Mods: This keeps getting put in Sexual Behavior. Please put it in Guy's Behavior or Relationships when you can, thanks! ~Jarhead
What Girls & Guys Said
51 35I love the way you wrote this take. I was skeptic when I first saw the title then I really started to like it. I like the way you explained what means conservative to you and you explained why you liked it more, with valid points, reminding us that is YOUR preference.
Besides being objective about this myTake, I totally agree with you. I can understand why a conservative style is more attractive, I am myself attracted more to people who don't choose such revealing clothes, well, maybe not quite conservative, cause I like different styles but definitely not revealing (as the girl above).
I think it is appropiate to wear crop tops as long as you pair them with regular jeans and I think shorts are great as long as you pair them with regular t-shirts (assuming that nor the crop top or shorts are exaggerated) I agree that choosing to reveal too much skin is actually a sign of seeking attention and approval. Confidence will always be the sexiest accesory a man or a woman could wear (y)
Everyone seems to think I'm trying to dictate how women dress. I'm glad to see at least some women aren't trying to play the victim here.
Its like the forbidden fruit, you have to work to undress her, and also shows she's probably not a slut.
That amish girl in your picture is hot, shame about her shitty dress sense.
Amish girls dress how their man tells them to. I find it questionable but the Amish have been around for thousands of years and they don't seem to have the same problems the rest of us have.
I actually agree with you but god that's an awful outfit. I like to do something in between. I like wearing a tight dress that shows off my shape but that doesn't show off my actual skin. I'll wear a body flattering dress, with a hoodie and leggings lol. The t-shirt, jeans thing is a huge no for me.
THIS^ You know it 😉
THIS IS ME. flattering dress, but just enough mystery still.
My boyfriend likes me in form fitting maxi dresses. I have a lot for the summer and they're honestly very figure flattering but you're all covered which is great. The jeans and top thing is a bit cliche and outdated.
Yes, I love the long maxi dresses too lol
It's just an example. I was going to use a picture of my eldest sibling because she hits the nail on the head with the whole modesty is attractive thing but I decided against it for her privacy.
I actually agree with this a lot.
"You may attract more attention but then you can't complain about only being seen as a sex object. ... this particular model isn't going to be seen as a person. She's advertising her body as something to be desired. Therefore people are going to desire it."
It's not something you're supposed to agree with. You aren't supposed to take it as advice. My word it not law. Don't demonize my preference. Besides I couldn't give a fuck what Americans look like. I'm Canadian. I don't care what Americans look like or what their women prefer to wear. My preference is my own. No need to get offended.
woah okay calm down their bud
Nah, I rather have a woman that flaunts her body and shows some skin. :)
Exactly.
I dont get why women think men's idea of conservative is dressing like a nun.
@ThatJarHead You realise he agrees with you right?
@Cosytoasty I'm pointing out it's not meant to be taken as advice. It's not advice and shouldn't be taken that way.
But he hasn't demonised your preference, neither is he offended? You're attacking a lot of people here unnecessarily with the blind copy & pasting.
@Cosytoasty I don't really care. Bandit is a good guy. He knows that I know that. Personally I don't care if people get offended. I copy pasted to every post that it had relevancy to.
Nice MyTake! :)
well it's fine like that but i think a dress up is much more attractive, i don't mean crop tops or shorts, this i actually casual wear it only shows much skin i mean well maybe uncle boots, nice shirt, accesories and stuff like that
I think I understand wear your coming from, but it's somewhere naive. No offense, but you're not concerned with the amount of skin covered or shown, you're concerned with a STYLE of dress that portrays a more conservative person. I garantee you that girl does not wear denim and a t-shirt when she goes to the beach, or when it's pushing 100 degrees outside. Are you going to call her a slut if she swims in a bikini? Or wears a tank top on a hot day? My god the mystery of dem shoulders is just ruined😱 Oh noes I saw her thighs im gonna blow in my shorts😵
Trust me guy you've got a problem with the fashion, not the skin. If you can't help but see a woman as an object if she's not always covered to that specific degree then I think you might have a problem. And I know this will come across as condescending but It's a distinction that just seems too obvious to miss ok?
I understand what you're saying. But the beach, and 100 degree days are not what he was talking about, and you know it.. Nor did he say he would spontaneously ejaculate in his shorts at seeing thighs and shoulders. That was completely inappropriate. He was just saying, in general, he likes a conservative look when there's a weather permitting choice, and why.. He wasn't even slut shaming either. Slut shaming is when you make someone in particular, feel like shit for being promiscuous. It has nothing to do with making a general statement, about the outfit of a hypothetical woman. Nobody is a slut for the way they dress. But people, men and women do dress in a sleazy way sometimes. I don't like it either. It doesn't make them, or I, a bad person. Just different. BUT finding oneself more comfortable and excited, talking to people of either sex, when they aren't highlighting their sexual parts just for no good reason, is just fine. It's just as fine as not caring about it at all.
Well often terms less is more and modesty is hot, if stuff is covered it leaves more to the imagination and creation then when everything is just out in the open for the world to see. Just an artists point of view of it.
That's a fair statement. I believe I said something similar in the take.
Yeah I do recall that.
I like girls who dress sporty and casual, that basically fits in at least two of the pictures in here (I don't mind tight and revealing clothes). I like girls in jeans, shorts, sweatpants, t-shirts, crop tops, tank tops, sneakers etc.
However, I dislike slutty style (high heels, stockings, makeup and stuff like that).
Very good Take.
Thanks man!
You're welcome
how are stockings slutty lol
crop tops are not but stockings are, how does that work. stockings dont reveal anything in themsleves. no more than not wearing them. they just smooth things out. and provide some cloth between your legs and the world.
@AriadneSky In the movies, hookers usually wear stockings, not crop tops.
because you're one of us decent guys who are a little old fashioned and like a person who covers up instead of showing everyone their tits and ass
There's nothing wrong with being old fashioned but I'm far from old fashioned. I'm just observant and I wouldn't want to date someone who looks like a stripper.
What are parameters used to decide whether or not the outfit is slutty?
It's not something you're supposed to agree with. You aren't supposed to take it as advice. My word it not law. Don't demonize my preference. Besides I couldn't give a fuck what Americans look like. I'm Canadian. I don't care what Americans look like or what their women prefer to wear. My preference is my own. No need to get offended.
Awwwe you are taking it in wrong way 😞 It was a genuine question and not rhetorical one. PS- I am neither American nor Canadian
Because these things vary from culture to culture. What is conservative for you may be slutty for some others...
And I'm not demonizing your preference at all. In fact I am also not a fan of showing too much skin. Anything that goes above knees is no no to me. It is also considered kinda inappropriate in my country tbh. You like what you like and no one has right to judge you for that
Tell that to rest of the women. It's not meant as advice and the parameters are can I see your tits and can I see your ass? I most of your body is exposed you're not wearing enough to be considered attractive in my mind.
Don't agree with this take, but I guess you can't help what you're attracted to. And I don't agree that covering up more skin and dressing like a preteen evokes more confidence, as most women who are comfortable with their bodies will tend to show it off more, whether that be with tight outfits or showing more flesh. And there's nothing wrong with that.
As I said this isn't something you're supposed to disagree or agree with me on. This is merely my preference.
nope confidence is irrelevant here , it has no impact of what a woman dresses, i know plenty of confident girls who wear jeans and a shirt and look just as hot while i know some who dont dare to raise their eyes or look into yours yet wear so revealing clothes you starte to wonder "did she even by anything new in the past 10 years?" keep in my unlike girls guys dont hide sex, so if a guy knows a guy is not quality he will tell his buddies and almost every guy who asks him about her, and usually girls wearing slutty outifts get asked about a lot and thats why guys are after them not cause they're confident but cause they're easy and everyone knows it.
girl *
@IceCubedude babes, how can you possibly know the female mind more than a female? If you are confident in your body, you tend to show it off more, and if you are less confident, you tend to hide it more. Of course there are the occasional exception, but this is speaking for the majority.
hardly, confidence doesn't even mater some girls just like being naked and having guys stare, but they have to play the victim card when some guy just wants sex
It's usually quite the opposite. Actually. People dress more provocatively when they are insecure and need approval. I'm not claiming to know all women's mind sets but you're running when you should be bating. Insecurity in women is linked to promiscuity and how they dress more so than it is men. Men who are insecure tend to be loud and obnoxious and sleep with anything that doesn't run away. Women who are insecure tend to dress provacatively, be shy, and be promiscuous.
I don't know about anyone else, but when I wear shorts and a crop top it's NOT so guys can look or stare. These looks are rather in trend at the moment, and because I have CONFIDENCE in my body, I feel comfortable and confident wearing them. When a man wears a tight top to show off his abs, does that mean he's under confident? No, it means he's proud of the body he's created for himself. If a woman wants to wear tight, form-fitting clothing, it's because she IS confident, and no, she is not 'naked.' Thanks.
so a man showing his body is proud of his body but a girl showing her body is "confident" why the double standards? you're saying that men are slutty jackasses who wanna show their bodies but women are simply confident... we all know the truth you want to show your body you want guys to be staring at you not at other girls, but there is always someone better than you , wearing less clothes so girls these days wear as little clothes as they can, its a "whos the better slut" competition kind of thing and guess what, no one wins.
Just another butt hurt teenager *sigh* nobody is out to get you dear calm down. I'm stating what I like. Not whether or not I like you. As for my statement I never said I spoke toward all women so no need to get offended but I'm going to block you now because you're just being overly sensitive and argumentative. Good luck and good bye.
More package to open I suppose
I don't care what you think
Then you shouldn't be on a site where opinions are written to answer questions
@Dave20154 What question are you answering, exactly? What you find attractive in a woman? And you think everyone on here really cares about that? Right, got it.
He's saying what he likes, not if he likes you
We're allowed to write what we want on here, why shouldn't he be able to write what he likes?
@Dave20154 Well yeah he's allowed to write it. Just don't expect people to give a f. That's my point.
Then why are you on here. That's my point, if you don't care, why are you on here. He voiced his opinion on what he likes
@Dave20154 Accidentally clicked on an opinion that annoyed me.
And yet you continued on to reply. You could have just walked away from it
@Dave20154 Shots fired! 💥💥 😜
Personally, I don't give a shit what a woman wears as long as she's happy.
Oh well I like to look feminine and attractive rather than dressing like a mom of 6 who's given up on life and haven't had sex in 9 years, yes 9. Also Im fairly sure most girls don't actually give a hoot how you'd like them to dress because, surprise, women don't dress for men.
How many times do I need to say dress how you like I don't care? Why do you need to get offended?
Because you are telling women they are less worth if they don't live up to the preferences of one individual, as if everyone should base the way they dress and act based on what you like.
Where did I say that huh? Tell me. Where in this whole take did I ever EVER say someone is less valuable because they don't me my standard? Did you even read it?
That's pretty much the essence of the take.
You didn't even read it did you? You're so full of crap. The essence of the take is what the title is. "Why I'm More Attracted to Women Who Dress Conservatively" You didn't read it and you're commenting because you can. If I was putting others down for not meeting my standard why would I be getting so defensive about it? If I was putting other people down why did I LITERALLY say in the post "Anyways guys, this is me stating my preference. I'm not trying to speak for all men or start some kind of flame war over this. Just stating my preferences and giving my reasons for having them."
I did actually read the whole thing and I replied because I think it's stupid. When you say "Why I'm More Attracted to Women Who Dress Conservatively" You're basically saying "Hey girls, dress like this because otherwise you're not attractive and because if you don't no man will respect you as a human being because you probably look like a hooker"
You can dress mondestly without looking like you're late for tee time
I don't see what golf has to do with anything. Those are just examples.
Your picture:
cf.girlsaskguys.com/.../...b547-3f4717c54d95-m.jpg
Golf picture:
www.jacksgolfingsolutions.com/.../...o%20Shirt.jpg
I still don't see what golf has to do with dressing conservatively. That picture is just an example. If I wanted to show how I personally think all women should dress I'd use a picture of my eldest sister but for her privacy I didn't.
So you're attracted to your sister?
i don't personally support incest but if that's what you're into... more power to you I guess. Just so you know it IS illegal so... be careful.
"If I wanted to show how I personally think all women should dress I'd use a picture of my eldest sister but for her privacy I didn't." And you said you're attracted to people who dress conservatively. So making the connection one could say you're attracted to your sister. Which is weird as hell.
My sister is an attractive woman yes. Is it a bad thing for me to recognize that? No. Also, making a connection between a statement and a preference is a logical fallacy. My sister dresses how I personally believe all women should dress. That doesn't mean I'm attracted to her. Personally I think she's a bitch. She's also very entitled and thinks the world owes her a favour. I go to great lengths to avoid my siblings. You're just some Highschool kid who thinks its funny to twist people's words. You aren't going to get a rise out of me so you're just making yourself look bad and I'm sure you're a nice person. I've been nothing but polite and respectful with you so you need to stop before you say something that you can take back. You're publicly on the Internet. It doesn't go away. Trust me. I still have old statements from my teens coming back to haunt me.
First off, dont need to but your sister down on my behalf. Second, it seems I did get a rise out of you (even though all I was doing was fucking with you). Thirdly, I'm in college. And fourthly, no one knows who I am on this site.
I'm not putting my sister down. She is genuinely these things. And no you haven't got a rise out of me. You're being antagonistic and it's not appreciated. I respect that you're entitled to your own opinions but that doesn't mean you need to be a bitch about stating them. Treat others how you would like to be treated. And you aren't in college. If you were in college you wouldn't have your age set at 17.
I've been in college since I was 16. Have you not heard of people doing that? And I'm not being a bitch because I disagree in a creative way.
If you're in college what's your major, who are studying under and what college are you going to?
Actually don't answer that. I'm just gonna block you because you're a troll. Have good day and good luck with your make believe college courses.
pff! I'll just go naked then.
