Church services are clearly meant for an adult audience anyway—the book they read there is full of pedophilia, rape, sodomy, incest and all sorts of perverted scenes. Children should not be forced by their parents to sit under a grown adult who reads to them from a book that has content so inappropriate for minors to be exposed to.

They are literally forced to worship, bow down to, confess obedience to, and profess love to the super old figure who leads the institution. Every meeting. How cultish and sick! Those kids are being brainwashed and victimized by these people luring them in with promises that they have all the answers to life, only to be told they are evil and have to change their identity, conform to the group mentality, and practice all the group behaviors in order to be happy and loved.

All as their parents just hand them over to these random adults EVERY WEEK, even against the child's wishes! They just care about making their kid fit their agenda, no matter the cost. It's foul. This shouldn't be tolerated any longer.

Ban minors from religious institutions.

  • Christianity is not my religion but I don't think banning religious influence from kids is good, true many contents are appropriate so they should've separated what should be revealed to children and shouldn't, or I'm wrong for assuming that's the mistake of an individual church if they don't?

But I think you expressed a very good point when you wrote "random adults every weekend".

A childhood flash from me, my mom never let me do a sleepover with any of my friends or relatives if she wasn't with me, sleeping next to me. Sames with my older sister.

It wasn't until I grown older and my working sister mentioned that some of her female coworkers told her they were molested by friend's relatives as children that my mom mentioned this begin the reason we never stayed over, she couldn't trust anyone even inside her family, aside from my mom's unmarried sister and our maternal grandma, for us to stay over without her supervision. I could never forget what she said.

"You can't risk trusting people's humanity when it's your child in risk" she said while cooking. "There's so much I learned as child from a single mother and the only one who took care of me and educated me for safety is my grandma, I learnt to observe earlier so I can't take such things lightly. My past classmates, even friends had such experiences or trusted wrong person with their food, one even died back in my middle school days. Let alone violated, there's many, which you better not know."

That was the moment I realized how horrific the world is so closely and even more felt how grateful I should be for a mother like mine.

This aside, yeah, I think the parents are trying to get rid of parental responsibility temporarily, not alert of what they should be wary about.

I'm Muslim and even so, no one leaves their children under 7 (in my country at least) in the mosque without them being there or in rare case their same-sex as child and married trusted adult to watch over them.

So, it's more of safety regarding children should be more concerned by their guardians.

    • Would your mother have protected sons the same way? This sort of abuse is mainly touching young boys, and less young girls…

    • I don't have a brother but I heard my mom growing concerned when she heard of her friends leaving their sons to sleep overnights at people they barely know, so she advices them against it constantly or at least be pickier over whom go leave with to have overnights when they still hasn't entered highschool

    • Thanks ! Are you from the same country as the famous queen?

  • Just imagine that 12 year olds are forced to "confess their sins" to some old ass motherfucker who is likely a pedo. Those sick snakes like to hear about minors masturbating and seeing them shivering and being scared. Children should be thought meditation and manipulation tactics instead.

Let go of your hatred dude. You're only hurting yourself.

    • Good point. Make all schools virtual. We have the technology to do it. The less time around pedophiles the better. And they can just go back to socializing with neighborhood kids and such, like people used to do before public school 8 hours a day became a whole big thing.

    • Make ALL SCHOOLS VIRTUAL? Were you totally asleep the past three years? Do you know how awful that is for children?

    • @OlderAndWiser Don't take this guy seriously. He's clearly a world class moron.

  • Any men or better any adult has to go through a test that they are not sexually into children otherwise they shouldn´t be allowed to work in jobs that bring them in contact with minors how about that? Because that would be more effective since guys that are into pedolphia and could also be teachers at a public school or coaches of your sports team.

Since it would sort out the behavior problems.

    • Edit: Could involve some irony or sarcasm.

    • That's not a bad idea. They do this for childcare workers already because predators seek out those types of jobs. Just expand the requirements and qualifications to all the jobs pedos seek out like the ones you mentioned, and that would probably help a lot. As long as it's public knowledge and publicly available so there's not as much room for cheating and bribing. I still don't think kids should be in church in the first place since there's no benefit and only harm, and there's no way to completely restrict predators from churches. Sure with this, you would potentially be able to keep them from leadership positions directly involving kids. But you can't enforce restrictions or qualifications just to attend churches. And all who attend usually roam and interact freely in the building. Even with security guards, they don't check people's criminal record or anything walking in the door. With school, you don't have anyone just walk in off the street and sit under lectures next to kids, use the same restrooms as them, etc. Schools are only employees allowed regularly. That's a lot safer. I like your idea but i don't think it would solve the danger of the church. It would make it a little less dangerous though.

  • Any religious group should be supervised by external supervisors that are secular, agnostic or atheist. It has been proven that time after time they can’t be trusted behind closed doors. Consenting adults can do as they see fit, but not minors.

  • What happened was horrible but it happens everyday in the secular world and the world condones it…. just marry the 13 year old then it’s fine. Preachers are fallen and people too and we all are capable of terrible things.

  • It's not really the church, it's that some people can put up a really good act and it puts them in the position to groom some children. Not every pastor or church worker are real Christians. They are just into it for the money, like Joel Osteen. But don't fret, these people will be dealt with harshly when they die.

Mark 9:42 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it is better for him if a heavy millstone is hung around his neck and he is thrown into the sea."

    • Oh great! Another month-old question that was put back into circulation.

  • Ban children from church? Without addressing and solving the problem of system abuse in the Church? That sounds like victim-blaming, as if it's the kid's fault?

If anything, the Church itself needs a global shake-up, from the upper echelons at the Vatican, to every cardinal, bishop, priest. Every church volunteer, every employee, every adult. Background checks, fingerprinting, eliminate any statute of limitations, prosecute every single perpetrator for their crimes, including those persons guilty of being complicit in the continual abuse and sexual assault of an untold number of children.

I'm sick and disgusted by people offering 'thoughts and prayers' and slaps on the wrist for predators who have damaged and destroyed the lives of the very souls these 'people of the faith' have conned us into believing they were here to protect. Lock them up. All of them. And dismantle the system that continues to allow this behavior to thrive.

    • More like leaders of a corrupt gang

    • Good point.

    • Hey, brave blue anon asker! Why haven't you responded to my opinon?

    • @Ageneveraproblem Yes, when the vctm is a child and the perpetrator is somone in a postion of authorty over the child, it is 100% the adult's responsbility. The child has no obligation to say "no." In fact, the adult remains 100% criminally responsible even if the child say "yes." To say anything else than this ignores the law and morality which is almost universally accepted.

  • Yes please let's do this. Let people not be indoctrinated into a religion as a child. Let them make the choice as an adult. Now I know that is not going to happen, but that would be my choice.

  • Just because your pedophile friends are successful at infiltrating churches doesn't mean anyone would strip people others of their freedom of religion. It's just like how your ANTIFA pals shoot up schools and we tell you that we're not going to surrender our right to bear arms. No matter how evil you are, people will never bend a knee to you and your satanist comrades.

    • What? Use better words and sentences that make sense. I can't understand you when you write like that.

    • You're probably just dumb.

    • Smart people can explain things simply. You wanted to say something to me, then say it so I understand, even if I am dumb.

  • No, it's too late for that. The left has gone full-blown pedo.

  • Congratulations, the FBI thinks you are a domestic terrorist for advocating that children should not be made to read those things.

  • I guess it hasn't occurred to you that adults leaving kids at home while they attend church would make kids less safe? Unfortunately, there are pedophiles walking around in daily life who are not subject to background checks, so by your reasoning kids should be kept under lock and key until they turn 18.

But let's be real here- you don't care about kids. You just hate Christianity.

  • How do you ban that? Don't send your children to church, and problem solved.

  • Only if we ban drag queen story hour first.

    • Ban both. Immediately.

  • I am always suspicious of guys that are youth pastors or coaches or scout leaders when they don't have kids in the program.

  • So is your rant about pedophelia or anti Christianity.

You seem to elude that the Bible is full of pedophelia and rape and whatever else you said. No so.

You atheist types are funny. Complain so much about others forcing their views on you. You guys seek converts more than religious people.

    • Seriously? That’s a defense?

  • It should be totally banned. There's no regulation or safety process to protect kids, only the blind conviction that the plaster is a soldier of Christ.

  • One more reason not to have kids in this messed up humanity.

  • are most pastors pedo or just a few bad apples. I’m curious what is it about being a pastor that make them want kinds..

    • Personally I'm not a fan of the "few bad apples" defense. It is never convincing. Especially when all the "good" apples always refuse to kick out the bad apples, and refuse to have rules so it's harder for more bad apples to get in. In every scenario I've heard that analogy is used, just by allowing or even defending the "few bad apples," all of the apples are effectively bad.

  • Using that logic, ban kids from public schools. I work are far, far, far more cases vs. school than I do religious orgs.

    • Yes. That's certainly an option too. Although based on other comments it could also be possible to weed out predators from schools by having strict screenings for all potential employees.

    • In fairness, in most schools the perps do not have previous records. But the issues are similar to what happened in the RCC, where higher ups hush it up. People like Larry Nassar and Sean Ramiro Lopez were able to do what they did for as long as they did because of superiors who ignored or disregarded the reports.

  • You'd think by now they would, but, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result every time

That's the church for you. INSANE
