The guideline most sexual health sites give for becoming "fluid bound" with a partner (i. e., deciding to go with a non-barrier method of birth control in a monogamous relationship) is 6 months. This is because it can take up to 6 months, in extreme cases, for HIV to show up on a screen. You should wait at least 3 months for the second one, though, since it can often take that long. But a couple of weeks for the initial one is probably a good idea (and no unprotected sex for a while).

If you go to your local health dept or student health center if you're in college, they will give you the testing guideline for HIV. But of course it's not just HIV you want to be worried about. HIV is a time consuming test. You only need to be tested twice but there's a wide timeframe between them.
Get tested for STDs first I would say then ask on what they recommend for HIV testing timeframes.
See the CDC website for guidelines: cdc. gov/hiv/basics/testing. html0 0 0 0thanks yes like I said I know that I have to get tested 2x the question was how long you should wait for the first one to be effective.
First test is like 3-8 weeks from the CDC website. 2nd test needs to be done anytime within a 3 month timeframe after the 1st test. So it really depends, need to ask your health dept for recommendations.
Ok thanks

It depends on what it is. Like aids, you'd have to wait longer than maybe gonorrhoea for example.
This may help
std.about.com/.../incubationper.htm0 0 0 0thanks. but that's only symptoms, they can get detected before they show anything?
Sorry, didn't notice that. -2 weeks: gonorrhea and chlamydia (and a pregnancy test too!) -1 week to 3 months: syphilis -6 weeks to 3 months: HIV, hepatitis C and B I just got that from another site.
Ok thanks :)

0 2It's still not too late for the morning after pill. You could go to the ER for it before going to bed.
0 0 0 0thanks but I'm worried about STDs and not pregnancy :)
Don't feel bad or regretful about having an unprotected 3sum. I've done the same when I was younger with two older women.
Luckily I came back STI free after having Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea testing 2-3 weeks later.
Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea are the most common STIs if you come back clear you'll be absolutely fine 👌
