my girl friends at work are friends and they have slept around a lot and I am the best looking guy among all of my friends; 1.8, big, muscular, attractive face and fun etc. But they stare at me in disbelief when I say I am a virgin, and I get a lot of pity as if I was someone sick or weird or something.. it sucks. So I don't know what is wrong with a guy being a virgin, so I want to ask you guys and girls; today is a 24 year old guy virgin an undesirable thing? My dad says I'd be super attractive to women because of it, but my friends just look at me with disdain and disbelief. So I think girls don't like virgin guys, like you look at us like we;'re monks who are unattractive or something. So from now on I won't casually admit it. So I'm like wondering what other people think? I think I get acknowledged about being normal if I were to lie about my virginity. is it just me?

Ok, first off, it seems as if you wear your virginity like a badge of honor. You need to stop that.

It shouldn't be #1 or even #100 on the talking points list.

Of course sex is #1 on the mans list when fist meeting a woman, but letting them know up front you are a virgin can TOTALLY kill any good vibes.

It's a subject that should only be brought up and getting to know somebody more personally, because it's a personal preference of yours, and outright stating that come off that you are trying to claim moral superiority over them, just because they have given into fulfilled their own sexual desires.

I don't thinks it's a bad thing, but wearing it on your sleeve definitely is.

I would be lying if I said I would openly admit being a virgin. I wouldn't lie about such a thing if asked unless I trusted the person to be discreet but I think I would just say something along the lines of "I guess you will never known now will you".

I can understand a females viewpoint if they were to fret over dating a 24 year old virgin. There is nothing wrong with it but it’s a given that you're going to be sexually awkward. Confidence is desirable while insecurities are not. I wouldn’t avoid dating another person because they are a virgin but it’s an understandable setback.

im 20 and waiting for marriage before I lose my virginity. I know a lot of my male friends are also doing the same and they're are in their 20's, some of them as old as 27. I would have soooo much respect for a guy if I knew he was waiting. it's also good relationship wise I feel because in today's society the majority of people don't care who they have sex with and I think that if you're with someone and they are willing to wait until you're ready then you should hang on and never let go because it shows that they truly want to be with you and not just to have a bit of fun with.

Whether you are a virgin or not mayn't be a problem, however a problem may arise if you refuse to have sex with your partner.

For many women sex is an important part of a relationship. It is for many men too. If you're not giving what they're wanting, they'll find it somewhere else.

Once a girl sought me out because her new boyfriend wanted to "wait", while she was just really horny. She had no intentions of seeing me again, she just wanted sex and knew I could supply without wanting anything more.

I think your response will depend on the type of people listening to you. Obviously the promiscuous girls at work won't know what to think of you since that is so different from their view on sex. Find other people who don't sleep around and they will be able to relate. Would you want to sleep with these gals at work? Do you really care what they think?

Early on I committed to wait until I was married for sex. I didn't really care what other people thought. Heck, my girlfriend and I in high school even were in a group interview for the local news in a segment on abstinence! Tell it like it is. If you are waiting for marriage or waiting to be in a relationship with a woman you really love, don't be ashamed to say that. Seems like the responses here to other related questions have many women who would really respect a man for either of those reasons.

Well, just take a look at your poll numbers!  Some people are "late bloomers" -- nothing wrong with that.  And ask anyone who lost their virginity at a young age if they enjoyed their first time ... guess what their answer will be.

Can we get some opinions from women who aren't waiting for marriage, and still would find a virgin attractive? Because I see no evidence that it's okay with women that a guy is a virgin, unless it's for religious reasons.
