To Girls: What Are Your Opinions on Nudism?

I have been an avid nudist ever since I was a child and only dress for certain occasions such as school, parties or going out in public. Just recently I had a discussion with a good friend of mine who happens to be a girl. We have known each other for 2 years and she knows about me being a nudist. I asked her if she would ever try nudism. I told her about family friendly environments and even offered to accompany her if she was nervous. She thought deeply and told me that she would have to think some more before she was certain she would try it. So my question is exactly what are your thoughts or opinions on nudists and nudism? Why wouldn't you want to try it? And why do people make such a big deal about being naked?

I just want to point out as well that's a huge misconception is that nudity and sexuality have nothing to do with each other in nudism. Thank you and good day!

  • I agree that nudity does not equal sexuality. I study art, I draw nude models all the time! But I did vote that nudism is something I would never try. Perhaps it's the way I was raised, or perhaps I've been ingrained with society's portrayal of nudity, but the thought of being naked and surrounded by other naked people makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't have a problem with it, but to be frank it's not something that appeals to me in the least.

  • Nudism... why do you have to make it sound like it is a religion? "Convert to nudism"... "practice nudism"... say what? People can get naked and walk around whenever they want to. No need to become "converted" or to intentionally "practice" it.

That said, I would assume it would feel pretty nice. But I'd like my own privacy, and I really don't see the need to pay some resort just to get naked.

    • Yes that is tru. convert wouldn't be the best word. I apologize if I sounded forcing, I would be perfectly happy if someone just tried it. Though to pracice nudism is far more than just being naked as you would put it. While basically yes it does involve being naked it's more or a lifestyle than being naked, it imlies healthier eating, acceptance of others, and equality among all. So yes I cud see why sum1 cud mistake it as a sort of religion.

    • Oh and at some nudist resorts they will let you try a couple of days free of charge so you can see if the resort fits your needs. And there are of course family friendly beaches for free as well. Any guy alone or with a camera would definately be viewed with suspicion. not even nudist parents would want som1 taking pictures of their children without permission so it is generally safe. And you can just as easily be naked in your own house or backyard given your fences are up high enuf.

    • But "healthier eating, acceptance of others, and equality among all" are general/basic/common sense ways to good life. You don't need to go around naked to do that. I just don't see the point of giving it the name "nudism" as if it is something out of the ordinary.

  • I don't like the idea of peeps checking my body out.

I'm a nudist when by self but even when I'm in great shape I like to be naked only if it's with my man under the sheets, lol.

I have no issues with others doing it but please don't expect that I'd ever want to be a nudie. :)

    • Well I am sad to hear that I just want to add that in a family friendly nudist resort, which most happen to be, you will find nobody less interested in your body than there. These are average people and people a screened to ensure pervs don't get in. No cameras or camcorders are allowed unless with express permission and are closely monitored and make sure no one is filmed who doesn't want to be. Contents are searched as well. Trust my experience, there is no safer place from pervs.

    • But I don't need that experience to feel good about life...I'm really happy in my clothes :)

    • It's not that nudist can't be happy wearing cloths, it's just that they are happier without them. There's no constant need to dress nice for occasion. You don't have to be contantly aware that what you are wearing or makeup to impress or appease others around you. You are just you and your accepted for who you are. If you are happier with your cloths on then I or anyone else shud have no grudge against you for doing so.

  • being a naked guy around naked girls can cause awkwardness at times if you catch my drift...

they will defiantly know if they are happy to see them ;)

    • Trust me that hardly ever happens. Like I said guys don't view a naked girl sexually in nudism. Looking at her breasts would be like looking at a t-shirt, but mind not to stare lol. Media today so much emphasizes nudity with sex that now virtually all Americans do too. And when you do find yourself getting an erection you simply cover yourself up with a towel. Or lay on your stomach. Erections aren't blown out of proportion and some places generally don't care.

    • If you start early, yah it probably wouldn't be an issue, but if you were to start in your late teens (like 19 =p) it would take quite a while to adjust to such a thing without a lot of erections from general nudity of girls.

    • True. It is harder to convert when you are older, but is is quite common for people any age to try nudism. You eventually just get used to it. Breasts are just like a hat or watch. Be it you can't take them off but they are viewed as just something that is there. I personally have a friend who's a guy who gave nudism a try when he was 24. After socializing with some nudist girls he had to cover up but after a few minutes you begin to think "why am I making such a big deal out of this?"

  • All I think of when I hear nudism is a bunch of old wrinkly dudes walking around amongst even older wrinkly women.

    • OK, so there are some nudist resorts where you’re likely to find a disproportionately high number of, well, older folks(resorts) But as nudism has become more mainstream a lot of families and young adults are practicing. In fact, my former neighbors were nudists. Both parents would hang out in their backyard sans clothes with their two teenage daughters who were 14 and 17. And I'd contest you to go to a nudist beach and the larger proportion of people there will be in their teens, 20's and 30's.

  • I wouldn't mind spending a weekend in a nudist environment.A nudist beach or um...resort!That's the word.Anyways,I think it would be a good experience,so long as it was a family environment.Nudist environment doesn't mean perverts, they are people who just enjoy being nude and enjoy being natural:D

    • Trust me, it is completely family friendly. Have you ever tried? I know many who try at home when they are alone or even just try sleeping naked to get settled and after the initial feeling of weirdness more than half continue to try it.

  • I never ever knew what nudism was until my boyfriend introduced me to it. He is also a nudist and got me into it. I was very nervous but after his assurances I finally tried it. It was an experience I will remember fondly for the rest of my life. It was so relaxing to not constantly compare yourself or worry about the way you look. And swimming naked is really great. I haven't been so happy in a long time and I'm glade I tried it.

    • It's great to hear that you actually do practice nudism. Do you mind telling me where you went? You talked about swiming so I could guess a nudist beach or in a backyard with a pool.

  • I'm too self conscience about my body around my boyfriend, so being around other people being naked probably wouldn't work out too well for me.
