Who is the most attractive member of a band? (Settling a dispute amongst my bandmates and I)

Okay, so I'm in a college band, we play at bars and such around the school. Recently my bandmates and I had this conversation about which member of a band girls find most attractive or like the best, or whatever. Yeah it sounds superficial and shallow, but keep in mind we're not really that serious about it. However I don't know too many girls other than my fiancee and her friends and there is no consensus among them, a couple said vocalist, one said drummer, one said bassist, and one said lead guitar. So I figured I'd get some other opinions from actual girls. Out of the typical rock band members (i.e. vocalist, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bassist, drummer, and keyboardist) which do you find most attractive? I don't mean necessarily that you're thinking of a specific musician who you find physically attractive, but which of those band positions is most appealing? And why is it most appealing? I wont' say what part of the band I'm in, at least not yet, I wouldn't want that to influence what people say.

When I say pianist... I mean keyboardist. I suppose some rock bands COULD have a piano on stage, but more likely it would be a keyboard. And an electronic keyboard is what we have.

Aw, what the hey, I play keyboard and am the lead vocalist for our band... so primarily I'm the singer but I play keyboard for some songs too. Don't feel obligated to make me feel better about myself or anything though :-P answer honestly.

So the votes are in, the majority of them anyways, and it seems like I've won, Woot. Especially when I take out all the guys who answered... thanks guys, but as the question says I'm looking for female opinions. Time to go taunt my band mates.

  • I am in a band myself and have actually sang back up for some major hitters in the Hip Hop and Pop world although I sing rock.

    What I found is that women tend to go fro the vocalists when it comes to bands because the front person is just that --the front. He is the face of the band and the most visible. Usually he also has to be very attractive--like Ville Valo of HIM (drool)...what was I saying...oh yeah...

    Unless that lady in question is a musician herself and understands the dynamics of musical creation her focus will be the lead singer. Think about it--even when Qwen Stefani was in No Doubt Rolling Stone woudl do full cover spreads of her sexy self without the band.

    People identify with the singer and that is simply the way it is.

    During my tour of duty in the underground scene I have seen the order go something like this

    Vocalist

    lead Guitar

    Drummer

    Bassist

    Keys...

    I mean--go up to a woman who isn't a musician and think of a band like--Cold Play, My Chemical Romance or I dunno, HIM, and ask them who they find hot...

    Me personally,because I am a singer, I always identify with vocalists myself--but I have found keyboardist and guitarists damn sexy...*LOL my hubby is laughing at me...*

  • ok, personally I think all of the guys in a band are hot, but in different ways.

    the vocalist is hot because he has a good voice and stands out the most,

    the guitarists/bassists are hot because..well, it's hot when guys play the guitar!

    and guys that play the drums, they just look really hot doing that and they have really nice muscles :D

    i've never seen a band play live with a pianist, but guys that play the piano are typically more romantic, which is really really attractive.

    haha so as you can tell I'm attracted to guys in bands, but I'd have to say that in famous bands usually the vocalist is the hottest. what girl isn't attracted to a guy that can serenade her ;)

  • When I was a teen, the drummers always got my attention, but lately its the bassists...the last 3 guys I've been involved with were bassists...Im dating one now actually...but... I didn't know he was a bassist when I started dating him.

    I think its just by chance though...I don't find what a guy plays what makes him more interesting, so I can't really vote. From what I've seen though, women tend to go mad crazy over the guitarist or the lead singer.

  • From a guy standpoint...Any girl band I've seen...the bassist is usually my eye catcher.

    • From my understanding girls are attracted to the singer the most, then: 2. Guitarist 3. Drummer 4. Bassist comes in last. I think it's because the singer gets the most attention from the audience, plus the lead singer is generally the band leader (and women are attracted to leaders). Ignoring the lead singer, the guitar sound draws the most attention. So guitarist come in second. Generally (not always!) the bass is inaudible, thus the bassist gets ignored. And the drummer fits between.

    • I am a drummer, but not for this band. I actually play all the instruments, but I'm very much an attention hog, lol, thus I prefer being the lead singer and I'm the only one of me and my bandmates who has taken voice lessons and can carry a tune.

  • well it depends on the person, really. Pete Wentz, the bassist in FOB is the one mostly found attractive, but other than that lead vocals are attractive.. But really, it depends on how the person looks.

    but, in my opinion lead guitar is pretty hot.

  • I love guitarist. My boyfriend is in a band and he is a drummer so I do like drummers too. But there is something abouta guy who can play electric guitar that is so hot.

    I love men when they are at a piano, but I'm not as keen on keyboards.

    • Keyboard and piano are essentially the same thing :-P If you can play one you can generally play the other.

    • I play both, and although it's basically the same, they have completely different functions. I generally prefer piano because of the tone and how the keys are weighted. Keyboards just don't have the same appeal for me. However, a good vocalist is very appealing too :]

    • I play both as well, thus why I said if you can play one you can play the other. And they don't have different functions, just different sounds. Pianos may have a fuller, clearer, more natural sound, but my point was if you could play something on piano, you can play it on keyboard, and vice versa, the mechanics don't differ much especially if you have a keyboard with weighted keys and good sound quality.

  • I'm in a band. I sing and I've played guitar and piano since I was 7! (I'm 16). We play mainly rock music. I love singing. Okay all guys in bands are usually passionate sexy mysterious and intense! I like em all. But ecspecially guitarists since I play myself!
