Whose job is it to buy condoms?

My boyfriend and I were going to have sex for the first time today, but he didn't have any condoms, so we didn't. Then he told me he'd never bought condoms before, that his ex girlfriends used to always buy them, or his dad gave him some once (lol). He says it's more embarrassing for a guy to buy condoms than for a girl to, and wants me to buy some for when we have sex. Is that weird? I'm a virgin, so I don't think I'd even know what kind to get, and I'd rather have him buy them, but I feel like I have to...Is it the guy's job to buy condoms?

  • I think everyone should be responsible for their own reproductive health, personally. I'm on birth control, so I've been taking care of that for years. But you can't count on anyone but yourself to look out for your health when it comes to diseases and infections, whether you're a girl or a guy. No guarantees that the other person will come prepared, so you should always have some condoms of your own, just in case they're too lazy [and therefore careless, yuck] to have some of their own, or too chickens.hit to buy some or get some FREE from a clinic. I have tons of condoms at home, and a couple in my bag. My boyfriend and I don't really use them because we've both been tested clean, we're sleeping exclusively with each other, and I'm on birth control, but I know he has some at home, and he knows I have some. He always jokes that I use them with my 'other boyfriends' because I have so many stashed away and we don't use them, haha. I just tease back that at leeeast he's not gonna get anything from me cause I'm smart and use protection. =P Looool.

  • It's is the responsibility of both to ensure you guys practice safe sex. I know from personal experience that I have usually had to buy condoms. I think it is more embarrassing for the female since society still has such huge hang ups about female sexuality. Good thing I am stubborn and my health is more important then the cashiers potential opinion of me for buying condoms.

  • Wow I would say that if your embarrassed to buy them then you probably are not mature enough to be having sex. But to answer the question of who is suppose to buy them I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. Its kinda of what you want to do. Try going together to get them.

  • Embarassing for a guy to buy condoms? Yeah--the last thing I want is for people to think I'm having sex! Hahaha! When I buy condoms, I insist the cashier ask for a price check over the PA just so the whole store knows I'm getting some.

Tell your boyfriend that he's an idiot. Then tell him if he goes and buys some condoms, you'll f*** him. See what he does. . .

  • F*** this sh*t honey, just forget it. If neither one of you wants to buy condoms, then don't buy condoms. Now you can have unprotected sex or you can call the whole thing off. Plainly the second is safer but who knows what you want.

  • You do your half, he does his. You do birth control pills, shot or IUD, he does condom or spermicide

  • Make a deal. You buy the hormonal birth control and he buys condoms. Of course both of you having your own stash of condoms is convenient too. You supply at your place and he does at his place.

  • My boyfriend and I switch on and off about buying. He gets what he wants and then next box I get what I want.

  • How embarasing. I once had to buy a dildo for my gay friend because he was embaraed, at the cash register I anounced it was for him :)

I really think its the guys that should buy the condoms. Its going on HIS d***, he should chose a kind he likes. Tell him to man up :)

  • thats bullsh*t buying condoms is unplesant for everyone tell him to either man up or deal with not getting sex, you sure your OK giving your virginity to some pipsqueck that lacks the balls to even go buy condoms?

    • in general again in general why do people say "MAN UP" but never "WOMAN UP"?

  • better for him because he knows what size he needs and what not

  • Both of you should buy and have condoms on you. You're both having sex so you're both responsible.

  • Whoever thinks it's more important.

  • I've always got one or two in my purse

  • I think the guy should buy them since it's his penis and all

  • The one that doesn't want to pay child support.

  • The guy.

  • I'm still virgin I may be embarassed for buying them for my first time but I think by time it will be OK. I have thought of this before, probably I may buy them online lol

    • I thought the same thing. But when the time came I still chickend out the first time🤣
