Question of the day - Why do Greek gods have micropenis?

I study ancient history so I would hope I knew this :P The Greeks considered a small penis to be a more masculine and refined trait. In all nude depictions of barbarians and Greek enemies, these people have large penises because that was considered to be animalistic and savage. I guess the smallness seems more elegant and the Greeks wanted to combine the elegance of that with the masculinity and strength of the defined torso :) (Finally my Greek and Roman art and architecture class is coming in useful for talking about the penises :P )

When they created art. They aimed at producing work where the centrepiece of attention was the figure. After all. Men are physical creatures and generally they were aimed at men. They wanted to make the body the focus in the same way art follows this too

The depictions you see in statuary are all of flaccid penises. There is much more variation in the length of flaccid penises than there is in the length of erect penises. A guy may be 1 1/2" flaccid and 5 1/2" erect while another guy may be 5" flaccid and 5 1/2" erect. This leads to the expressions "grower" and "shower."

Small penises were associated with intellect and rationality which the Greeks tended to value. Large ones were associated with lust and foolishness. I think that statue is from the Renaissance if it's 'David'.

Different cultural values and beauty standards. Being physically strong and in shape has always been valued, that never really changed. Just that big penises are obviously valued today and are considered ideal and desirable for women.
