Could she still be pregnant?

So my coworker has been worried about her 26 yr old cousin. She's considered the wild one in the family. Smokes cigarettes all the time, smokes weed, drinks a lot. Always partying, meets guys on tinder ( stays safe though, she makes sure the guy has a condom ). Lately she has been having pregnancy symptoms around March. Her menstrual always start on the 25th. So Feb & March was missed. On April 6th she felt a sharp pain in her stomach to the point she dropped what she was trying to pick up ( she works at a grocery store ) within that same night she bled and it lasted til the 8th so she figured that was her menstrual even though it was extremely short ( normally last 7 days ) and started so early. So she continued to do what she always did because she figured okay I'm not pregnant for sure. The next couple of days the symptoms continued. Now she's always hungry, sharp pain when she's getting hungry, bloated stomach, sensitive teeth and headache for 5 days straight she even noticed her gums started bleeding all of a sudden.

And yes she has taken the blood and urine test. Both said negative, that's why she continued to drink and smoke again.

And no she's not trying to have kids.

  • Well it seems to be a possibility and tests have a percentage of false negatives.

    Best off going to a doctor. Something is NQR (not quite right).

    • She called today instead of waiting til Monday. She can do a ultrasound and when the time comes she will be close to 9 weeks so hopefully that's enough time to detect anything

  • That's strange. Blood tests are accurate since it can detect even the tiniest amount of hCG. Has she consulted her OB-Gyn already? She might have to get a TVS Ultrasound.

    • The same problem happened to my boss friend and she found out she was 3 months pregnant through ultrasound, so we told her to try getting a schedule for a ultrasound just in case. And yes her OB - GYN already ruled out pregnancy without giving her another blood test because she said she think she had her period for 2 or maybe 3 days. But it's just concerning to us that the symptoms are getting worse. She loves coffee, always going to Dunkin and Starbucks everyday, now she can't even smell it without feeling nauseous or her stomach tightening up. Same for eggs can't eat it or smell it

    • Is she taking any medications like contraceptive pills, etc? Some medications can make her feel nauseous also. It's best to go to the doctor and get an ultrasound. Maybe get another OB-Gyn 'cause her current doctor is just taking it lightly.

    • She just takes vitamins. I hope she does find another OB-GYN because I feel like if she's not pregnant something else could be wrong like maybe a miscarriage or something else that could be bad

    • It's not me. And the only reason I'm worried because she doesn't have family where we live, I have known my coworker for 5 years now we all have a age gap, so it's not like we can all hangout. I feel to old compared to them. My boss is also trying to help and she doesn't even know her. I didn't know I had to use names on my question.

  • If the blood test negative so she is not pregnant. But she has to go gynecologist

    • That's what we told her, maybe something else is going on, plus to even schedule a ultrasound possibly, because we heard a story about my boss friend was going through the same thing and found out she was 3 months pregnant. She also continued what she was doing because her blood test said negative but went back again after a month went by because she kept getting sick so that's when they scheduled a ultrasound for her.

    • Blood test is the most trustable way to learn that you are pregnant or not. Your boss friends were wrong or told lie or the test was not done in correct way. She should go gynecologist not only being pregnant but also to control her vagina health

    • Oh wow I didn't know it was possible to not get it done the correct way.. She said she will call Monday to schedule appointment. At least to actually if she is/isn't. Plus she can also make sure she is actually healthy down there. As for my boss friend, she had 2 other kids before the unexpected pregnancy and she was considered obese so I don't know if that could have caused it? I'm just assuming. My boss didn't know the reasons it caused but we did look it and it said it can cause a negative pregnancy test. I believe she's 5"1 and was around 245 or 250 she started to lose weight when she had a scare. When she lost 15 pounds that's when she started having the symptoms like my co worker cousin was having and getting sick all the time

    • So it doesn't have to be mental? Because she really doesn't want kids. Her parents was extremely strict so when she was finally able to leave, she made it clear that she didn't want to settle with a boyfriend, or a husband and especially no kids because she just wants that freedom of having " fun ".

    • She's not worried at all. We were just a little concerned because we told our boss because her sister has like 5 kids and she told us her friend was 3 months pregnant. Without even knowing she was pregnant and the only reason she found out was because she kept getting sick so she thought maybe it was a tumor and when they did a ultrasound, that's when she found out she was actually pregnant. So that's why we were a little worried. Now it's like she wants her to stop partying until she gets a ultrasound because I feel like if she found out she was pregnant and was doing all of this stuff she would actually be depressed. Yes she likes to be wild and having fun, but I feel like she would stop everything and do better for herself if she was indeed pregnant.
