Do girls like sexual attention even it's in negative form?

I know girls usually feel flattered when someone shows interest in them, whether or not they are interested too. But how do you girls feel when guys pay you sexual attention? Like when they just want to get in your pants? Or when random guys pass you in the street and wolf-whistle at you or comment on your body and say things like "I would love to just f*** her!". Does that make you feel hot and sexy? Or are you disgusted and turned off by that kind of behavior ?

  • Honestly, some girls crave atention so badly that they will take it however they can get it even if it's extremely negative. That is the leading cause of sluttism.

    But me...

If a guy just wants to get in my pants, then I get offended. To me that's like saying "I'd screw you but I wouldn't put in the effort to actually date you. I have no desire to give you an important place in my life." It's like a smack in the face. Not only that, but I'm nobody's sex object!

When random guys wolf whistle at me, yeah I can't help but grin, because in a way it is a compliment, but it's also like "Damn, your game sucks! ;P" lol, true charmers do better than wolf whistling! If a guy ever said that to me on the street, I'd shut him down in front of all of his friends and make him look/feel like a nasty pig. I'm totally turned off by that behavior and I'd never take a guy seriously after he acted like that.

  • I absolutely hate it when a guy does that. It's vulgar, rude, and just shows how low their intelligence really is if they'd do that out loud.

However, as disgusted as I am, a small part of me does feel kind of good knowing I'm at least attractive enough for them to think that. But then again, I've never had anyone really do that to me that badly (I think I've ever heard a comment once. I do consider myself lucky in that regard.), so maybe I don't understand as much as someone who's had that happen to them more frequently/harshly.

What Girls & Guys Said

  • Those kind of things kinda make me feel degraded and worthless, like nothing but a piece of meat there to just f*** and chuck. Definitely a turn off.

If a guy is interested in me and actually wants something, it shouldn't be that hard to just say I look beautiful or something similar to that, rather than making me feel like a sexual object.

  • No no no no no. Sexual harassment is not flattering, it's invasive and makes you feel violated as f***. Some guys make the argument, "Oh girls like it even if they say they don't, they love the attention!" No. The majority of us, particularly the ones without huge self-esteem issues, just want to be left alone, to be able to walk to the store without feeling like a piece of meat.

  • It makes me feel good about my appearance, sure, but it does not make the guy doing it look/appear good to me... if that makes sense. You are increasing my view of myself but decreasing my view of you. Mainly because that kind of behavior is immature, and should probably only be kept for the bedroom.

  • Don't like it.

  • My gut reaction to strangers who wolf whistle and say sexual things to me in the street is of disgust... I usually feel like throwing a couple of insults back at them... but then I think about it and well, at least they think I'm attractive, so I should also take it as a compliment. But, yeah, I feel disgust, especially when they're old enough to be my father/grandfather. I would never sleep with them, even if I can rationalize their comments as compliments.

Now, if it's a guy I know, if I don't like him that way, I feel flattered, though I also feel bad for not reciprocating. If I feel attracted to him and he shows sexual interest, if I'm only in the mood for something sexual, then I flirt for a while and then decide if I go for it... but if it's a guy I like romantically and he only shows sexual attention, then it makes me feel cheap and not special. But that's just me.
