It's possible for a heterosexual man to "assume" that a man may be considered attractive based on his knowledge.

It's not possible for a heterosexual man to gauge the attractiveness of other men intrinsically.
Because the ability to do that would make him not heterosexual.
I mean, that's literally how sexuality is defined, by what you deem attractive.

Finding someone attractive, IS sexual attraction, those are NOT different things.
