Because it's a statement about how much the guy values his partner. You gotta understand how bad that looks. Sex and romantic intimacy are a pretty big part of what women bring to relationships, so the public knowledge that a woman's sex and intimacy aren't enough to keep her man to herself just looks really bad. It makes people very justifiably ask questions that they don't have any business asking.
