Do you have any methods to feel better when you're sad? If so, what are they?

Sex and alcohol don't count.

  • I seek solace from the Lord when I pray to Him.

  • Used to be video games, but they ended up pissing me off. But at least I get my mind off of what I was sad about 😂😂😂

  • Sex with me boyfriend, weed, and crying to my pets about

  • Music! It always helps alleviate sadness and sorrow, a close second would heading out for a jog in the woods or just being anywhere close to nature.

  • Music plus isolation does the trick sometimes to me

  • For starters I talk to people, and if I am alone I listen some music and watch something which is unrelated to the stuff I am sad about. Mostly action and comedy. I write down my feelings or draw a little. I have tried meditation and exercising both help plenty for my overall mood.

  • House Party Protocol- top of the world-imagine dragons, jump in the line-Harry Belafonte, raise your glass-Pink, devil inside-INXS, misery business-paramore, the politics of dancing- re-flex, other music like that. turn it up to 11, kick off my shoes and socks and dance around, until I'm grinning stupidly.

  • I sit down by myself and sort my feelings out in my mind. I think about how I can frame everything in a way that makes me feel better and makes sense of things, and then I think about all the good in my life, my friends, my family, my goals, my health, etc.

  • Distract myself with funny videos. I was actually just crying a few hours ago and I cane across some funny cat videos and that helped a lot

  • I have at least one method that makes me feel better most of the time
Being social and having distractions like watching movies or tv

  • I try to lead a meditative and mindful lifestyle. After I meditate I walk around my house appreciating the things I have. Since I've been doing this the only time I feel sad is if I eat too much sugar, which is rare.

  • I just try and keep working twards a goal and do my best. When I have a oncrete goal and a plan how to get there I feel a lot better already and then I just start doing something for it. But it has to be a goal that actually makes sense and is something I can do now. But doing anything is usually better than doing nothing just going out for a walk for an hour is already a huge improvement over staying inside all day.

Sometimes I also just think about my situation and what I can do about it but that doesn't help immediately it's more of a long term thing because over time I'll maybe see something from a new perspective or have a new idea for something I could change etc.

  • I eat lots of junk and watch TV

  • I wish I could be using them now

  • Play upbeat, fun and positive music and hang out with friends.

  • I eat icecream
    Work out
    Listening to Quran
    Listening to music

But I'm kinda ALWAYS sad inside but happy outside 🤣

  • Post stuff online and make jokes on Reddit for those sweet upvotes. Yeah that’s probably childish but my sense of humor seems to work well online and I like making people laugh.

  • Food, music, a good book or netflix. Works almost always for me😂 Or if something is bothering me it helps to talk about it with a close friend

  • Sleeping, hiking or anything simple that requires focus, like carving or reading.

  • That's like what is the most prevalent "greenhouse gas"? Water (overwhelmingly the most) vapor doesn't count.
