Do you think gold-diggers are nothing but socially accepted prostitutes?

prostitute noun a person, typically a woman, who engages in sexual activity for payment. ---------- gold-digger noun informal plural noun: gold-diggers a woman who forms relationships with men purely to obtain money or gifts from them. ---------- I know a relationship doesn't necessarily involve sex but I don't think those rich boys have such patience and are just wasting their money. And how many guys have relationship with no sex at all throughout their life? I kinda believe that 'gold-digger' is a PC form of 'prostitute'. Agree?

    1. Prostitute - fixed form of payment in directly exchangeable currency
    2. God Digger (rather derogatory, I don't use this term ever) - those that won't hook up with someone that doesn't have money to splurge on them.
    3. With Gold Diggers, it's not always and every time a payment in cash or kind immediately after sex unlike in prostitution
    4. Prostitute seldom has choice of client and doesn't know them on a personal level most times
    5. God Digger knows the person and has chosen that person
    6. Neither terms are gender specific
    7. Personal opinion? SOCIETY CAN GO TAKE A WALK - let them do what they must & want

  • No because the prostitute doesn' lie about what she is you know from the start what she is and you know upfront what your paying and what you are getting. A prostitute is actually not only more moral since she is not manipulating or lying to the guy to get his money but also more respectable because of it.

  • Yes, they basically are, and they're dumb for doing it.

    The one really wealthy man I've had for a boyfriend by the time we ended our relationship (amicably) after a little over a year had paid off my credit cards, my student loans, bought me a car (offered a Lexus, I agreed on a Toyota), and put a down payment on condo for me.

    Why did he do all of this? Because I obviously wasn't after his money, I never asked him for a flippin' thing and it him months before I'd have sex with him, despite him offering to take me on getaways to Bermuda, Hilton Head, Bahamas, and the like. It pays not to be a whore.

    Prostitution is "mating" directly with money, and having sex **if necessary** to secure that money (if you can't get it through pure graft / robbery).

    Surprise! Gold-diggery is EXACTLY the same thing.
    Go back and read that definition.

    Gold-diggery is only socially acceptable because the upper class does it, and the upper class makes the social rules so that basically ANYTHING the upper class does is socially acceptable.

  • Since when is 'forming relationships' interchangeable with 'engaging in sexual activity'?
    The only thing I really see the two sharing is the exchange of money between a man and a woman.
