Do you think most people overreact when teenagers have sex with adults? ?

Like when a 16 year old has sex with a 35 year old. It's legal in most places and consensual most of the time. Do you think people make too much of a big deal out of it?

  • I'd like to know where "most places" is exactly. It's illegal in my country and I think 16 year olds aren't nearly as mature or clever as they think they are, like most teens, so obviously I think a greasy old dude is grooming her to make her have sex with him.

    • "greasy old dude" Nice generalisation. And look at the age of consent laws in the US, in many states its legal

  • No I don't. I think that with age people develop skills and can use those skills to manipulate behaviours. Numerous abusive relationships involve using the skills to trick the other into thinking it was their want and their need. I also think people know, intuitively, such an action is more probable with a large age spread. So no, I don't think people make too much of this.

  • long as the law says it ok who cares what people think

  • No if a teen has sex with an adult there is a major issue

  • No, i think 16 is still not something very mature
When i was 17 i had shared my N*des on a server... and got banned... i thought it's not a big deal
But now when I'm 19 i think that even if it was ok but I wasn't so mature enough
If i ever share nudes, there is a difference between now me and 17yr old me.
And even 16 yr olds i think it's not anything mature... it's hormones controlling u.
    Like they did to me.
But now as i feel stable that wasn't something of a great choice i had chosen

  • You seem quite interested in this issue. Okay, I'll bite again. If it's a man fucking a 16-year-old girl, people go nuts. "How DARE he rob the cradle?" But when it's a woman fucking a 16-year-old boy, he's getting "experience". "She'll show him a good time".

In most states it's legal for 16-year-olds, boy or girl, to have consensual sex, regardless of the age of their partner. As much as we might object to it, there's nothing we can do legally. I was banging girls under 16 but then, I was under 16 as well. Still, that could be considered statutory rape.

    • The double standard is overexegared here. Most people don't react as strongly as some think.

  • Consent doesn't matter if anyone older has sex with a minor he/she should be public executed by a firing squad that is my opinion.

  • As their parent you're still the person who has parenting rights until 18 and you're entitled to say who can and who not from point of law. My cousin dated a German guy who owns a Vietnamese restaurant chain, she was 19 and he was 38 at this time. Everyone mocked her around "oh, you are a connoisseur of 100 year old eggs" which are famous smelly dish in Vietnamese cuisine and eggs in German is an equivalent to balls, nuts in English. They married, but this guy was never accepted by my family and divorced few years later. Now she complains "how stupid she was" and "if I could turn the time back...", because she wasted her prime for some idiot who will be soon 'out of order' instead in a guy in her age she could invest her time to grow together with.
I think peer pressure on family members is sometimes important to prevent very bad choices.

  • How would people know they're having sex? In the US it is definitely frowned upon to be having sex with someone underage (18) if you are an adult. Now would I do, prob not, but then again I havnt had a hot 16 yo girl wanting to get my dick so I can't say for sure.

    • They would just know, but the question is if people overreact or not

  • I of course think it's wrong for a teacher to take advantage of an underage student.

But always wanted to get with a teacher like fuck a teacher at college and uni. It legal and be good. Some people look down on it others don't it just depends really. Personally I'd be up for it. If I was single, I got a girlfriend though

    • I am not talking about teachers

    • I know that's the context I know about some people think it ok for people at college as long as legal some don't depends on the person

  • No, I do not think they overreact. I think they underreact.

  • Completely! 14-16 is totally fine tbh.

    • 14 is too young in my opinion

    • DM me? Would love to hear your views on age

  • If a girl under 18 has sex with a grown man, this is illegal in my country and might even expose the man to the risk of violence. One time a 26 year old teacher was reported missing and a 15 year old girl went to the police station and told them that she had had sex with him.
That teacher has never been seen or heard from since.

    • That's scary

  • Maybe but for me that to much of age gap he is old enough to be her dad.

  • I'm 53 and I wouldn't be with anyone under 20. Even if I was 30 years old I wouldn't be with anyone under 20. That's my cut off age. I think a 16 year old shouldn't be with anyone over 21.

  • Sex shouldn't be taking place outside of marriage I'm aware of that and I'm not innocent of that either, I let it happen two times in my past, I'm not proud of it. That said, yes I think people over react to the age differences. What most don't know is at one time it was up to the dad's and the Church to decide when their children were old enough to marry IE get involved in a relationship. At one time which was pre 1889 there was no age of consent, (let that sink in). The age of consent came along in 1889 and when the age of consent was first introduced a couple of states put it at age 7 while the other states had it between age 10 and 12. That alone should prove the age of consent wasn't meant to protect anyone. Fast forward to today and that becomes very evident with the purposeful confusing of gender and abortion all which point toward eugenics. Do the math.

It's mostly men that are punished for getting involved with minors, while socially acceptable for women (mostly), unless a parent raises a lot of fuss over it. And it's (mostly) deemed socially acceptable to society when it's women doing it. Meanwhile in the reverse they want to castrate men for the very same thing.

Have the conversation with a woman with age 12 years as the age of consent and she will pitch a fit saying no 12 years old isn't old enough to be getting married and having babies. Yet that same woman will allow her 12 year old's boyfriend to move in with her daughter and partake in all the things that would pertain to a married couple. She will allow her 12 year old daughter to go to the wild overnight weekend parties drinking and smoking at the beach and get tattooed etc etc. And yes I've seen it happen more than enough times.

    • It's obviously not socially acceptable for women to go after underage minors.

    • Yeah but they have and they've cheered them on quiet well Mary Kay Letourneau The All American Girl. Debra Lafave and there are countless others no including the 30+ year old that got into a relationship with my friend when we were about 14/15. What was her punishment? As in all the other cases, she was awarded child support as soon as he hit 18.

    • That was very long time ago. Society has changed, and Mary got 7 years in prison

  • I don’t have approve of it but each to their own

  • I really haven't heard a lot of this going on, so I can't really say either way.

  • Well here in the State's 17 and below is illegal for sex above 18. So no i don't think we over react. I think its a good thing

  • Yes, it is common while everyone wants a young partner even if they are too old.
