Sexual Health Attitudes towards sex continue to get more liberal. Once giving a blowjob was special or taboo but now everyone does it pretty much every time they have sex without thinking. It's normal and expected. Is anal the same now? Is it just part of sex and nothing usual, unexpected, or taboo? It feels like it is now.

It's certainly become more common but I wouldn't say it's expected just yet. It's even become a more common practice for males to have anal stimulation during sex.

Anal sex is normal in the same way oral sex is. It is commonplace, most couples do it at least sometimes, many do it regularly, and except for religious freaks and germaphobes, it is accepted as mainstream sexual practice almost to the degree that oral sex is today. Oral sort of blazed the trail for anal in a sense, considering decades ago most people felt the same way about it as some people still do about anal, but that is changing fast. At the current rate, anal will be as commonly practiced among heterosexual couples as oral is today.
Is anal expected? Not necessarily. Like anything else, it is a preference. Some people like it, some don't, it's important to some people and not to others. Such is human sexuality.

Anal is okay. We only do anal once or twice a year and it’s usually not that great because there’s so much prep work. I prefer vaginal without a condom.
