Is it normal that growing up, me and my family didn't wear clothes at home?

when we were naked it never felt awkward or sexual. is nudity around the home common?

  • It IS absolutely normal for families that don't have sexual hang ups and are sex positive to walk around their own home naked. We are born without clothes. Society makes us wear clothes. Your home, your rules. Outside of the house, societies rules.
    I had sex positive parents who never had a problem with me and my mom walking around the house naked. Even my female friends and female classmates that came over the house after classes, or for the day, or during weekend sleepovers would be naked too because it was our house. However, my Dad was the only male in the house that was allowed to see us naked cause all the girls were OK with that cause he wasn't a creep trying to hang out with us. He was a very respectful cool guy that left us alone and went about his business, and the girls liked him very much. So if he got a peek here and there, nobody cared. And I never had any boys over the house, only girls. Lots & lots & lots of girls naked all the time. We had lots of FUN!!!
    I carried this tradition with me when I went away to college too. I lived in a sorority house with 35 other girls and we were naked all the time there too!

    I wonder about the lifestyle and beliefs.

    What happens if someone dates someone who is not a nudest? Does the house put on clothes?

    What happens if there is a infant in the home? Does that matter?

    Does it do anything spiritually?

    How is the hygiene?

    Honestly nothing but respect. I just have so many questions.

    • if i date someone whos not a nudist he can wear clothes and i won't, if there's an infant thats ok. spiritually, it connects you more with nature. for hygene we make sure to clean everything properly

    • We feel nothing wrong in seeing naked body. With infants they treat it as natural not sexual. Hygene is incredibly high. Depends in what way you mean it. PM me

  • Some families are like that. Clothes are mainly for warmth and privacy. Your family considers the family a unit that has privacy as a family, not individually. Depends on the culture of your region, and the upbringing of you parents. Actually, that is a nice thing in many ways.

  • Not at all... it is only our bodies that we see. Every family is different. In mine we wore cloths 95% of the time but occasionally someone would exit the shower with no clothing on or walk out to the dryer to get some clothing while naked... no big deal

    Nudity in the home is not that common.
    To grow up in a nudist household is great since it takes away a lot of the common beliefs that being naked is bad, and it is not.

    • True and I agree. Nudity has a lot of false assumptions like it is sex based, only hot looking people are nude, it is for swingers, etc. All false. Things happen, but nude or not, they happen. I am a nudist myself.

  • Isn't that illegal to expose yourself to minors? I'm pretty sure it is and for good reason.

    • The reason I asked that has to do with what happens with boys when they reach puberty and start getting involuntary erections. Was that something that was accepted in your nude family or was your brother expected to cover up or go to his room? Because it's not something a 13, 14 year old boy can control.
