Is the penis just an enlarged clitoris that has less capacity for pleasure than the clitoris?

  • They both develop from the ambisexual genital tubercle as explained in this article:

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6234061/

    • But which organ has more nerve endings, the clit or penis? I hear people say a penis is just an enlarged clitoris and the penis has less capacity for pleasure than the clitoris

    • I haven't found anything online to confirm that, but perhaps someone else on here will know.

    • The clitoris has 10,000 nerve endings

  • Technically yes. Realistically no. Biologically they started out the same but due to the y chromosome it changed and in addition to the change the functionality of it changed as well. They are not the same nor is it a fair comparison either way

What Girls & Guys Said

  • Basically yes

    • Some guy said the penis is more sensitive as it takes girls longer to orgasm with same level of stimulation

    • The penis is not more sensitive lol. Most of the clit is inside so it's more difficult to stimulate

    • Exactly, also building up to an orgasm is much more intense than quickly getting an orgasm. That’s why men get edging because they know that a prolonged built up to an orgasm results in a much more intense orgasm, so they try to be like us women.

  • Pretty much so yes with one major exception: A penis contains a urethra; the female urethra is independent from the clitoris.

  • I THINK it has other functions.

    • What has other functions?

    • A penis. It pees.

    • Clitoris only has the function of providing women pleasure.

  • Absolutely! Part of the reason it's less sensitive is because the nerve endings are spread out over a much larger area rather than being all compacted together in an area the size of a nipple.

    • So which is more sensitive the clit or penis?

    • What is less sensitive?

    • I've never had a clit but, I'd say it's the clit. What does it take to make it feel really good? Can you just touch it, even without being sexual, and get shivers all over your body?

  • "Is the penis just an enlarged clitoris?"
Yes, with the urethra fused into the center of it.

"that has less capacity for pleasure than the clitoris?"
No, if anything its more sensitive than the clitoris, it usually takes women longer to ejaculate than men with the same level of stimulation.

    • You’re wrong sir, penis is def not more sensitive than the clit. Recent scientific study came out and they found out that the clit has 10,000 nerve endings whereas the penis only has 4,000. Also the nerve endings on the clitoris are much more dense close together which makes it even more sensitive than the nerve endings on the penis glans are much more spread out on a larger area making it less sensitive.

    • Actually I'm not wrong, any study claiming otherwise is run by idiots. The number of neurons (nerve endings) doesn't effect the level of sensitivity in an organ. The highest number of neurons on your body is your brain, and you can't ever feel your brain. What effects sensitivity is the types of neurons, combined with whether or not the are myelinated, and where they are positioned, and what their biological functions they are assigned to. One neuron can cause seering pain while others are completely numb, most neurons will not be sensory functional, but rather operate the organ itself, and thos can vary, and functional reassignments happen, etc. etc. You cannot gain information about sensitivity by counting nerve bundles or size of nerves. You can however observe how long it takes for a person to reach an orgasm, and on average, men reach an orgasm much faster than women do, which eould mean the penis is more sensative, which honestly makes sense because it has more surface area. Most of the neurons in the clitoris are not accessable to touching, because the majority of the clitoris is inside the body, whereas with the penis, more of its neurons are terminating where the skin is, making them accessable.

  • No. Nerve endings are the same but the mechanics are not comparable. Clitoris is more sensitive cuz nerves are more densky packed

    • Mechanics are not comprable?

  • i think it depends on the person, you have guys who come quick and girls who come quick. Do they experience less or more pleasure?

    • Who knows. But I know girls experience more pleasure

    • how can you know if you've never been a man? i have experienced mind-blowing orgasms in my time, if you're talking about pleasure derived from physical stimulation then I'd say it also depends on the person, like if you touch yourself, you can do it poorly resulting in less pleasure

    • Because it’s been scientifically proven

  • They are same actually.

  • Never seen a 10 inch clit

    • What’s a 10 inch clit

    • U asked if the penis was just an enlarged clit.

    • Yes, because I hear people say a penis is an enlarged clit.

  • clitoris but if a guy did not masturbated in a long time penis can also be very very sensitive

    • What’s more sensitive penis or clitoris

    • Clitoris

    • Correct

  • Good question
