when I am in a relationship and with someone... intimacy as in closeness is sort of my default, whether is cuddling, snuggling, sitting next to each other is the usual most of the times
and also make sure we spend a lot of time together in person (I do have the flexibility to cut or move working hours to a certain degree)
but I am also used to adapt and adjust to my partners, and not all of them are the same... some are into the same kind of closeness, some have been even more into it and others less of it, they also prefer some space at times... so, I can always be fine with that, I can do it both and either way with no issue, I can go for that closeness and intimacy for either quality and quantity, lol
and when I am single, well... I just somehow am able to shut down all of those "cravings" lmao and other kinds of cravings as well... sort of hibernating mode

lmao... well, some true talk here, I guess I am just used to that feeling the first 16 years of my life, I actually felt extremely lonely as in alienated or isolated within myself, even when I was with others, and that was a LOT of years, lol so, after also, years and years of working on it and developing to a better version of me, and me with others (in relationships) nowadays... a couple of months, or a couple of years feel like nothing much to me, lol my little struggles and phases of today, just do not compare to my big time struggles of the past other than that, I do have many and plenty of ways to distract myself from those cravings... as in, I do have my friends, my best friends, family... and now my cats lmao it is not the same thing, but the feel good hormones are the same, similar enough, lol
That actually makes sense I guess. I'm a loner so solitude doesn't bother me most of the time. But those moments that I do have these cravings, they can be really intense.
Hmmh. I think of it as low grade sex. We need a better word for it. I don't know how it is for girls but it is very pleasant to feel your girls body against yours. Maybe her thigh pressed to yours. Her hand in yours. Your arm around with your hand in her waist. Or the movement of her body as you walk arm in arm. As a guy I enjoy feeling the femininity of my girls body against mine. Cuddling, hugging describe some activities of this nature but they aren't all encompassing terms. If your girl sits close to you and feel her curves and warmth whats that called? Sitting close doesn't describe it well nor the the feelings it can engender. Physical intimacy is too generic and usually associated with thrusting hip movements.
Of course the low level stuff can escalate up.

It depends what intimacy I crave. When i crave emotional or sexual intimacy I will go hug my husband or kiss him or just sit by him. When i crave intellectual or communication intimicy I will talk to the people on the internet or my mom. When I crave aesthetic intimacy I will post a photo on facebook. Spiritual intimacy I talk to God. Recreational intimacy I play piano or guitar by myself.
