Yes, us men have preferences but I doubt it very much breast size would ever be the reason a man chooses a woman to date or settle down with and if they were that shallow why would you want anything to do with them? Personally I always liked them big and but I married a flat chested one.

I suspect there is a mixture of things one will be looking at several popular and famous people likey has an impact and well there is often a common body type that is popular in different time periods and that changes.
I think as well it's more common when they are younger and it's easier to think having big breasts is a part of being a woman and the fact that people often at schools have a tendency to make fun of those who dont develop or develop late and like wise develop early.
It can be down to the people they know such as friends or past partners. Partners keep bringing up their breast size and stuff as a complaint. And friends for instance if they had friends who were say larger in the chest and always seemed to get more attention it could cause them to think there chest is the issue.
Basically people can be really terrible and even just hurtful without meaning to and people can become insecure about something without anyone intending them to.

Some girls tend to obsess about details like their noses, lips, the size of their boobs, butts, areolas, inner labia, etc. They are insecure about their bodies and think there is such a thing as perfection when, in actuality, everyone is different and there is no standard of perfection.
The majority of guys don't judge women's individual body parts.
I think insecurity is the result of on-line porn, the beauty and fashion industries, movies and media.
I'd like to look like a movie star, but I'm not going to get plastic surgery to achieve it. Despite that, I never had complaints from women.
Having self-esteem and confidence, not to mention personality, goes a long way toward others thinking you are attractive for who you are. If a person thinks they are sexy, others will, too.
And then there is the fact that everyone has different preferences and you can't please everyone. But some people are going to think you are ideal.
While your question is specific to the topic of breasts, the truth is all people have insecurities about a dozen different things. I think society as a collective whole lays a lot more emphasis on appearance at the feet of women than men, but both sexes get it in their own way.
In my experience I’ve encountered the following: tall girls wish they weren’t so tall. Short girls wish they were taller. Dark girls wish they were lighter and light girls wish they were darker. Girls with straight hair are always trying to curl it and girls with curly hair are always trying to straighten it. As far as boobs, the girl who wants a breast reduction walks through the same door to a surgeon as the girl who wants breast implants.
lots of women in general are insecure. I think the negative bias causes them to find something they can complain about, as they perceive an easy excuse as to why they are not valued.
it may be true in cases, but I find women (or men) can overcome negative adversity from others with positivity... if their inner self has the strength.
you do realise many women's insecurity do NOT take a man's opinion into account? men's preferences for the most part do not factor into this at all.

I am not insecure at all. I used to be as a teenager but not anymore. I have small breasts and i dont care if men like them or not. Men's opinions on my body are irrelevant to me.
