I have some personal experience with this. The answer is: Allow one of your wife‘s friends to “console” you. Wake up horrified. Realize that lots of married/divorced soccer moms your age are up for adventure. Sleep with a couple. Sleep with several college girls. …then a couple more…then a cheerleading coach that you mistook for someone you knew and didn’t realize your mistake until later. Then go wild on Tinder, etc; meeting every girl you can. Snap out of it one day and be horrified. Take a trip to Iceland and sleep with way too many girls. Come back home, meet some 19 year old with daddy issues, and while banging her against the wall in a hotel bathroom suddenly realize that you hate yourself.

An escort or any kind of money for sex transaction is going to feel hollow. He's had a long marriage and the intimacy he would have had with his wife would be incomparable to sleeping with a prostitute. I think he'd regret it after the deed was done realising that it didn't offer any of the emotional fulfilment that genuine intimacy does. If anything it might only make him realise how much he misses the times he had with his wife.
I think he'd be better off trying to find hobbies or groups where he can mingle with people of a similar age not with the intention of seeking a relationship but just to continue having a life for his own mental well being and physical health and this could ultimately put him in the path of someone in a similar situation or even just something completely new.
Tbh, you don't need to pay for it, when there are lots of women out there that would be glad of the company and also not wanting a serious relationship. So therefore maybe look at dating sites and taking women out that are in a similar situation and not looking for a serious thing.
You never know, he might find something that he wasn't expecting 😊
