That's like asking why someone would eat ice cream, given that it's not an ideal food for human survival. Ice cream may not be the healthiest of foods, but eating it is VERY, VERY ENJOYABLE, even if you have regrets about the calories later.

People do pleasurable things to experience the pleasure - it's really not that complicated to understand.

Now, of course, I completely get why many people wouldn't do this - most women especially - because while there can be tremendous momentary pleasure in having sex, sex can become much more complicated and impactful, especially for women. Pregnancies, STDs, and just bonding with someone who doesn't feel the same about you in return are all complicating factors. It's definitely smarter, especially for women, to only have sex within a serious relationship.

But most people will still end up eating the unhealthy ice cream, at least once in a while.
