Why is selling yourself becoming normalized?

It’s crazy how many people sell nude pictures now...

I won’t lie, I’ve bought quite a few “subscriptions” but why is it becoming so common?

There are women on my social media who literally charge to converse..
They make you pay just to talk?

Whats going on here?
soon they’re gonna start charging to see their hair & faces..

Superb Opinion

  • Why is it/has it become something relatively common?
1.) Because there is a large consumer base out there (of mostly men, but some women). People go where money is to follow, and there generally aren’t legal issues (like traditional prostitution) either.

People can get away with charging others to talk because...
    - like mentioned, there is a market for it
    - a lot of people in the world are lonely, and they are willing to use money for a pseudo connection with a pretty girl they may not be able to ever meet in real life
    - the brain releases chemicals in regards to sexual acts that stimulates the idea of “doing something sexual = good,” so some people certainly get addicted to sex or sexual acts that they spend more money on porn/nudes than they really have cash for.

2.) Because it’s often low starting effort for the perpetrators, and most difficulty associated with the field is tied to one’s personal view. For instance, if one is scared of their reputation becoming ‘tarnished’ with sexual acts on their life-resumé, it’s hard. If one doesn’t care and has a thick skin to deal with how horny people act, it’s not hard (at least skill-wise). There isn’t a college degree necessary, upfront cost is minimal, and success is mostly based on innate things like personality and looks. The cost of a quality camera/video camera is cheaper than ever, and the internet has evolved in a way that provides more anonymity, easier connectivity, and easier payment than ever before.

If one is considered a “10/10” woman, she could likely make loads of money on the various platforms available. For instance, an arguably great job at $100,000 a year at 9-5 is around $48 an hour. The idea that one could make that for simply taking of a shirt a few times or talking for a few minutes is a tempting offer to many. At that point though, it becomes a personal/ethical dilemma of what one considers right/wrong for the price.

A sub point to make is that I think the negative aspects of the job/offering of nudes is often quite downplayed. I think that people see “ooh, big money and little effort” and jump on board, but they don’t really think much about any negative mental impact it would have on their person. However, once one gets ‘in the game,’ I can only imagine it gets harder to get out, especially if a name or photo gets widespread. Because of this, some people join up without really thinking fully through what they’re getting into.
