you love your partner more than anything but your partner wants you to wait for sex until you both get married, what would you do? simply leave him/her? i know many don't want to wait, i actually have no idea why it is so hard when you truly love that person. would you rather leave your lover and have your heartbroken or wait for sex?

ViewS have changed if I was in love with partner and I knew she wanted to wait I would wait. It shows respect to the person you Love. There is nothing wrong with waiting til marriage
It isn't popular these days. But that doesn't mean it isn't a good thing.

I have no problem waiting. Sex is not everything, and if that person can't respect your decision he/she is not for you

When I was young I would have waited.
If I were magically young again I probably wouldn't be willing to get married under that scenario. My default assumption is now that we would be sexually incompatible unless there's good evidence saying otherwise.
So I could quite easily wait two years for a great sex life with someone I love, but in this case, it's more likely I'd be waiting two years to form a very long or lifetime relationship filled with frustration and ultimately little love due to problems around sexual desires.
