Would it be morally right for a 22 year old boy to have sex with a 17 year old?

  • I would be OK with it if the 17 year old initiated and was not manipulated in any way. I was actually involved in something similar. I should begin by saying I'm pansexual, since it's relevant. I met a guy online who told me he was 18. He actually looked slightly older. If he had not mentioned his age I would have assumed he was around 20. After we met a few times he let slip that he had just made 18. All contacts were initiated by him, and it wasn't just for sex. We enjoy each others company. If it were not for COVID we would likely meet up fairly often. I can't see how that would be wrong in any way. That being said, a 22 year old could easily manipulate a 17 year old in that situation. In such a situation you could not really call that consensual sex.

  • In most places it's probably legal but it's definitely more we all. I did this at that age with a seventeen-year-old as well. She wasn't officially my girlfriend but we hang out hung out a lot and had fun. There sodomy on the few occasions and recently I was scared that I might after all these years have to answer for that. Age of consent was 16 I didn't go over the 10-year roll I wasn't even around then wow I'd like to go back and I have a 17 year old. But if I did that at this age I am now and would be off for a long prison term.

  • Morally? As long as it's consentual it's morally ok, but legally it's not. So if there's any risk on than angle, like parents finding out and freaking out and try to press charges (which as long as the girl doesn't falsely testify as rape it shouldn't go further legally) she may should wait a bit until her birthday. Morally age-wise I've never seen a problem. My father is 10 years older than my mom. And I've always felt atracted to older men, the oldest I've dated was 35 and I was 19, but again I was "legal" haha.

  • I'd say no because when you're young like that a 5 year difference is A LOT. One of them is still in high school while the other is in college, just seems like two different worlds. I don't know why you'd want to wait for someone whos still in Highschool and still has to ask someone if they can use the restroom. The year before the girl would only just be able to get a provisional license while the guy a year before would be able to legally drink. Just seems odd for a 22 year old to go after a 17 year old...

    • I completely agree with this. I also think it depends on the intentions of both parties.

  • Moral? Whose moral?

Legal? Some state yes, others no.

    Christianity? Go to hell (LOL!)

    G@G? 75% yes, 25% no.

Me? Who care about what my moral is?

You? Fuck it! (Get the pun?)

Conclusion: morality is relative to a belief. Choose one and don't regret. Whatever others think is their own business. Its your life. Live it the way you find the most happiness and don't regret. That, I think is new morality.

  • I think it’s fine

    • @charlean whats ur age range?

  • Its fine if you're a 22 yo female school teacher and you're a boy of 13 to 17. Then its ok. Or its ok only until the 17 yo girl get mad at you then tells 10 of her friends

  • WHO'S morals? The guy? ... the Girl's?
    Some nosey societal third party's?
With the appropriate 'common sense' SAFEGUARD 'taboos'
how is it ANYONE else's business?

In allegedly 'primitive' Polynesian tribes, personal sexual sovereignty BEGINS at age SEVEN!
Just after mastering... not 'soiling oneself' potty training. ;)

  • Yes? If consent is given.

I just know that it's illegal depending on where you live.

  • Nope, definitely not

  • Maybe...

    I would need more details

  • That's not a big age difference. Either way, what really matters is that the 17 year old isn't taken advantage of. If they aren't, in my opinion it's morally justified. But you've heard of grooming, right?

    • U think this is grooming

    • There's no way for me to know whether it is or isn't.

  • I say its alright

  • Morals are a social construct that vary in time and space. In most of western society that age difference isn't huge and as long as consensual age was 17 then it probably wouldn't raise too many eyebrows. A 22 year old girl might be disappointed by inexperiece.

  • 22yo boy having sex with 17yo girl is wrong.
but 62yo guy having sex with 18yo is just fine.

  • There are lot of "depends" in there, but my initial reaction is it would not be beneficial for the girl.

  • I don't see any problem with it. Nobody turns 18 and automatically becomes a responsable adult. But, depending of where you live, it can be legally wrong or legally Ok.

  • I think it's morally acceptable. Its hard for me to say it's morally "right." In a way I kind of consider morally indifferent, if that makes any sense. Something that's morally "right" is to pick up someone's wallet that they dropped and giving it back to them. But a guy having sex with a girl isn't morally "right" but it's not morally "wrong" either.

  • @nickiminajatvevo why u ask?

  • it's legal, so, it obviously must be moral, right?

  • It's absolutely fine

    • Can I ask you a question

    • @ManhattanMan1212 sure

  • It is legal in some states but, he's too old for you.

  • Not in my book. And I’d check the local laws for age of consent cuz it’s borderline at best.

  • I’d probably wait another year, just because...
