People need to take stds more seriously! They are very common and some of them you can get even if you use condoms, like herpes and hpv which you get through skin contact and condoms don't cover every inch of skin. 50% of sexually active people will get hpv at some point in their life, even if they have safe sex. That's why its so important to have pap smears, that's the only way to detect it and there is no test for males. It can cause cancer and warts. There are over 100 different strains of hpv. 1 out of 4 people have some strain of herpes, oral being the more common one. So yeah don't take stds lightly and think your not going to catch one! I've only had sex ONCE and we used a condom and I now have genital warts. How unlucky am I! :at least its not herpes, which is an sti you would have for life. I can get rid of them and the virus may leave my body naturally within 2 years if my immune system is good enough. Scared the hell out of me though and I'm much more wise about sex. I'm never, ever going to share my body with someone unless I'm actually considering marrying them!
0 1 0 0STDs are much more common than people realize. People are so casual about sex today, & don't even consider that they can get STDs. I know a lot of women who have gotten STDs who have premarital sex. I feel bad for them, but in many cases it is their fault. They catch it from a guy, they go to the doctor to get it taken care of, & just continue having sex with the guy. They don't tell the guy out of fear & get the disease all over again. Now, how much sense does that make? I really think women need to stop walking around on egg shells with men. They are too afraid of upsetting a man & just keep their mouth shut instead. I will never let a guy scare me into keeping my mouth shut, I've learned better from watching countless women do it.
0 1 0 0Once you have a disease you cannot get it again. You can take measures to minimize it though.

0 1 0 0I hardly ever use a condom because I just really hate sex with one, but the majority of girls I have sex with I have at least a brief description of their previous sex life.
If I'm hooking up with some random girl I met from the club then yes I'll use a condom, but even then if I'm really drunk I'll just skip the condom.
Its really a very bad habit.0 1 0 0Yes, it's a terrible habit and would serve you proper to catch hiv or something else very nasty.
You shouldn't wish HIV on anyone. It's a horrible disease and people make mistakes. He's aware it's a bad habit, which he should try to rectify but I'd still not wish anything ill on them.
Lol, this guy is wishing death upon me because I don't have sex with a condom? Kill yourself, do the world a favor. As for Crimson Petal, thank you. I usually always use a condom if its a "random" girl. Fortunately I am in a social circle that allows me to kind of "background check" a girl who am I interested in so I at least have an idea of what I am getting myself into.

9 5I think about it a lot. I've only been with one guy but regardless before we even thought of sex without a condom both of us went to get tested. I plan on treating every sexual encounter the same way. A std is just something I'm not willing to risk.
2 0 0 0Oh, and when you said that no one seems to have them, STD's are growing rapidly in the 16-24 and 50-75 age groups. This doesn't mean the people in the middle are immune and it doesn't mean you should take any of them lightly. I used to work with people who had HIV/ AIDS and it can and does affect ANYONE. I know personally several women with herpes(incurable), two friends had chlamydia (curable) and one with genital warts. Please take better care in the future.
Actuall yes people get STD's. It is a virus or disease that you are stuck with for the rest of your life. How would you feel knowing you are only young and have herpes down there, or have HIV I would certainely care if I got any type of STD.
1 1 0 0You protect yourself, you pick partners who protect themselves, and you take your chances. Knocking wood as I say this, I've never been burned.
1 0 0 1go get laid already so you can stop asking silly questions
4 2 0 1The only STDs that are curable, that I know about, are Syphilis and Gonorrhea. Everything else has NO cure! It can only be controlled and managed. Keep that in mind and always get a condom on his d*** before it gets inside you.
1 2 0 0Chlamydia is also easily curable. But it's often symptomless (especially for men) and can cause infertility in the long term if it's not dealt with soon enough.
