My gynecologist does tend to over use the lube. At the end she offers me baby wipes in addition to tissues. When I have been in a hurry I have not wiped off the lube all the way. Then I experience what you described in your post. Ladies there are 101 reasons for a gynecologist would do a rectal exam. We don't know your medical history so it is not right to jump the gun to say a gynecologist doesn't touch the rectum. My Mother died of rectal cancer. Long before I was old enough to have a colonoscopy my gynecologist did a fectal occult blood test. Another thing is that many women have had babies and their babies were born with the help of an episiotomy. An episiotomy is done by the doctor cutting between the base of the vagina at the 6 o'clock position down through the perineum. Sometimes women have to go through additional surgeries to repair the damage done by the
episiotomy. Some have even had damage done to the rectum. Also a gynecologist serves as a woman's general medical care provider like a primary care physician. I know women who see their gynecologist for colds etc. Bottom line I don't think your doctor was in the wrong. They simply used too much lube.0 0 0 0Gynecologists or regular doctors doing an annual well-woman visit frequently check for rectal polyps, fissures and hemorhoids. They often check for occult blood in the stool as well.

(8)I don't think it's the amount of lube, it's just the way KY jelly is. Yeah, I hate that stuff too!
