What does it mean when a guy drunk texts you?

this guy that I've had a history with drunk text me last night saying, "i miss you". I know it wasn't a booty call or hookup call because we are on Thanksgiving break and we live hours away from each other. just to give a little history of our "relationship"-we used to talk on and off. we got serious this past summer but when we got back to school, things kinda changed. it didn't take long for us to kinda drift apart. till this day, I don't know exactly why we did. but anyway we still flirt and we have some chemistry. last Saturday at a party, some guy kept blowing smoke in my face after I told him I was asthmatic so my guy and told him to stop smoking. (he is a football player so his friends almost beat him up for me). but he still danced with other girls and that pissed me off. we also made out once one weekend but there was no sex involved (we have never had sex and I'm a virgin). the bottom line is that he has been giving me mixed signals. I don't know if he wants me back or not. he did mention one time when he was drunk that he cares about me and that we should be friends and see where that goes (we werent friends when we started talking. we just went straight into the making out thing to lead to a relationship but that never happened. so I'm guessing he wants us to be friends and know each other really well first?) ok anyway I replied his "i miss you text" the following day and I said "how are you feeling after last night. still miss me? :)" then he replied "yea I still do". and I said "miss you too. happy thanksgiving" but he didn't reply after that. so my questions are why did he text me that he missed me and why didn't he reply my text? also what's up with him giving me mixed signals. help please :(

he said he missed you because he did, simple as that. It could mean that he is interested in you as more than a friend but you never know. You said that he is giving you mixed signals, maybe you have been giving them out too and he doesn't know where the relationship stands. If you aren't sure where the relationship stands and you think he doesn't know either, then most likely u're both interested but have been giving each other mixed signals and have confused the crap out of each other. Him not txting you back doesn't mean anything, so don't worry about that.

i don't think I give him mixed signals. he knows I like him and I even asked him to dance with me at the last party we were at(the one where he defended me). normally he would ask me to dance but I asked him instead. as for where the relationship stands, how do you think I should approach it with him?

if he wanted you he wouldn't have had to be " drunk" to tell you.

Read the last bit of what you said. he didn't reply after it. "yeah I still do" is a very blunt and dismissive text. and not replying after it simply means he isn't bothered :) I think you didn't understand my answer.

Its very blunt and dismissive if someone text me just " yeah I still do" << is that it? nothing else. he didn't reply after that? does that seem like a guy who is interested.
