Um, yes. If you go to the wikipedia page it has a link to a study with 22 women who were diagnosed with this complex. It is hard to say that a diagnosed complex doesn't exist. It probably isn't as high as 70%; especially since the study was of manic-depressive women. So the general public probably has a lower rate of this complex. Granted that is only my speculation. It could just as easily be at a higher rate amongst the general public. I wonder if this was part of Kinsey study or the Masters and Johnson research. As those would probably be a better source if they explored this topic.
First of all, a small study like that is a big red flag. You can NOT get accurate results with only 22 women, no control group, with only one experiment. The experiment was conducted by a science nutjob who's theories were usually wrong. What you're talking about is the Electra Complex Theory. How it goes is that women from birth are jealous of their dad's penis and want to cut it off. Now, how many babies do you know want to cut off their dad's penis? I never have met a baby that was tempted to do so.
