I think he needs help... If you want to be a good friend, you should be there for him and help him get some average friends and some normal social skills.
Otherwise get far away, cause this situation could get kinda ugly if you make missteps.
There's a good chance he was being conspicuously weird just to get attention from you. He knows zoophilia is weird (at least to the average person) because it's common sense. Anyone else who liked it would either hide it from you because it's weird or be more sympathetic to your views--only if he was trying really hard to be open with you for some reason. (This is just IMO, but I'm into some pretty weird stuff so...)
(Just a possibility but) If he's on anxiety and depression meds and claims being lonely, couldn't it make sense his zoophilia may be a result of him feeling lonely and not being able to get someone to consent to a relationship? It takes a bit of conviction to try anything new especially if you know it's considered weird by most people--especially trying it in real life instead of just watching it. Something made him resolve to try it, and it probably wasn't anything good. The guilt that came after doing it resulted in his strong justification of it--just how can you tell if a dog enjoyed it. (o. O)
I believe both your chat about zoophilia and your friend's enjoyment of it are results of your friend's loneliness. Thus, the question is no longer whether you should hear him out about zoophilia. If he's really a close friend, the question becomes: Will you go out of your way to help him or not?0 0 0 1Thank you so much, this was very helpful.
If a guy wants to 'rape' a cow or a mare, the animal won't even feel his human penis. I've seen vets put a whole arm in there.
I don't even think it's legal it certainly feels very wrong and makes me feel sick anyway.
If I was you I would write a final message saying you no longer what to be friends and you are blocking him, the guy is not normal at all and has major issues if he enjoys getting sexual with animal!0 0 0 0Strangely enough, bestiality is legal in many states of the USA. Most of those "legal" states also oppose homosexuality.
Wow that's nuts.
The law was revised in our state this year by making it a felony. For a while the my state actually had no set law.

It's wrong to do harm to animals. Even if they "enjoy it" (lies)
I'm sure you were really upset when you heard it. I would be too. However, it is a fetish and if he's a true friend of yours, you may want to hear his opinion on the idea. You don't have to agree with him or conform to his beliefs but a friend is a friend. If he's on depression medication right now is the moment he'll need you more then ever.
You don't have to agree with him but don't shun him for his actions and sexual desires.0 2 0 0No, you're not wrong at all.
I don't care if it happens, how often it happens, or how "common" people say it is... it's WRONG and I agree with you that it's blatant and disgusting animal abuse.
I wouldn't be his friend anymore either.
There's no way I'd be able to accept that.0 3 0 0that would freak me out too. i don't think it's right. when i was i got so disgusted by the animal abuse portrayed on the simpsons i stopped watching that dumb show. everyone can say it's funny and i'm overreacting or whatever but there are kids who copy that and kill cats.

4 14Yeah, I wouldn't be able to deal with that. People can try to defend it, say it's 'common' and that everyone has some kind of fetish or whatever, but this is just too much. You aren't wrong at all for reacting the way that you did!
1 1 0 0He's a damn freak. I wouldn't talk to him again. Next thing you know he's gonna try and get you into it
1 0 0 0Aye yi yiiii... yup ditch him. Any who can stoop too such levels doesn't deserve to have human friends.
