Boyfriend wants to try the pull out method? Birth control methods you like?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years and 4 months. We recently started having sex a few months ago. We ALWAYS use condoms. I am not on birth control so we've always used condoms and they've always worked for us. He recently told he would want to go without a condom once to see what it's like and finish on my stomach but I don't know. I'm not going to lie, it sounds appealing but pregnancy is one of my grratest fears lol and I know about pre-cum so I'm worried even though there is only a bit of sperm in there. I'm also scared he won't pull out in time lol. Have any of you guys ever done this? Did it work? What birth control methods do you like?

  • I have used the withdrawal method plenty of times before. That was the sole method of contraception my boyfriend and I used in our first two years together. I did tell him that I would only agree to that after we discussed a plan of action in case I did fall pregnant or he came too early while he was still inside of me or something. He agreed that he would be 100% honest and get me some plan B should that happen.

Thankfully it never did happen but after around two years of doing that, I decided that it may be time to give hormonal contraceptives a try, as I have a bit of a latex allergy so condoms were a no-go. I've been on the pill for over a year by now and I love it as well as the intimacy sex and having him finish inside of me without being concerned about falling pregnant brings with it. :)

    • wow 2 years pulling out successfully is pretty impressive

  • I've used the pull out method many times and never gotten pregnant but it's only 73% effective. If you decide to let him pull out, either choose a point in your cycle when it's unlikely you're ovulating or use a secondary backup method like a contraceptive sponge or gel. There's also plan b afterwards.

  • I would just get on birth control. Pull out by itself is too risky if you are 100 percent against having a baby.

    • Now I have used only pull out in the past and while I didn't fall pregnant (those couple times) I freaked out and panicked the whole month and it's just Not worth it to me.

    • I completely agree it's not worth the worry

    • Thank you!! I feel the same even though we always use protection I ALWAYS freak myself out so I could only imagine how it'd be if we didn't

  • Is birth control an option for you? Because even with condoms there's still a decent chance of an accident happening where pregnancy could happen, so birth control is a much safer option if possible. But you also shouldn't feel pressured to use birth control if that's not a good option for whatever reason, but in that case definitely stick to using condoms... like most others have said, the risk is just too high relying on the pull out method.

    • I have a similar question I'd be curious to get your opinion about... if you don't mind will you send me a message through my profile page (or give me a follow and I'll message you to try to explain)?

  • We do it sometimes but i dont encourage it. I always pull out sooner just to be sure. I dont recommend this if you really dont want a baby. Not only there is a very small chance of pregnancy but it will also stress you out and you won't enjoy sex. Id stick to the condoms.

  • I like to use my face 😂😂😂

  • Forget the "Pull Out" Method here, dear. Pre-Cum, hun, and you Never Know what can Happen with Joe. Good chance to Get PG.
Continue to Use something, but if he wants Off of the Raincoat, you can Go on the Pill, which is 99% Effective.
    Good Luck. xx

  • In my experience, the pull out method doesn't work well, at all. The guy always seems to time it wrong and at least one spurt of cum ends up inside me. I'm on birth control now so he just cums in me without a condom.

  • The pull out method isn’t effective at all. Don’t go for it, if you do choose not to use a condom then have a Plan B ready after sex. (Plan B the drugstore “birth control” pill)

  • You should look in to Frontal Lobe Disorder and how it relates to birth control and prescription drugs.

  • I liked the pill but I'm now on the copper coil. Which is non hormonal and lasts for ten years.

    • 10 years with no worries does sound appealing

  • When my girl doesn't want me to cum inside her she will ask me to cum in her mouth instead, which I love doing.

  • Just know that if you agree to the pull out method you're making a choice that increases your chances of getting pregnant.

  • No the pull out method is incredibly irresponsible to use alone. If you are going to try that at least be on the pill. I would highly advise against it.

  • It's not worth the risk.

  • we did the pull out method for a little bit but it made us both really nervous so she decided to go on the pill.

  • lol condone girl

  • honestly its not worth the risk even for the guy its not that fun so girl just stick with condoms. you can always do what i do. wear a super thin condom and then have the girl use her mouth to pull off the condom and then finish on her body

  • Use of Condoms is best for safe sex at both end.

  • Don't do the pull out method, really not worth having to get an abortion for the 18 years you'd have to spend bringing up a child you don't want just because your boyfriend doesn't want to wear a condom

  • why don't you just get on a form of birth control

  • better yet, do anal sex

  • the pull out method is NOT an effective contraception. Even if he doesn't finish inside you, precum will still contain a small amount of genetic material. lots of people have become pregnant doing this.
my advice would be to always use a condom if you want avoid unwanted pregnancy, if he still wants to finish on your stomach, there's no reason why he can't take the condom off just before climax.

  • good luck.. you will end up pregnant... just use condoms.. there are brands that feel like you are going without. Technology id really advanced these days.

  • The pull out method is not a form of birth control because you can still get pregnant. I know because it happened to me. You can also get pregnant with condoms, but it is less likely. If you don't want to use the pill bc of dangerous hormones, ask him to get a vasectomy. It's a very simple and almost painless procedure.
