  • Voted A), I have always found the concept of physically assaulting someone into "submission" to your demands pretty much the worst scumbag offense against the concept of humaneness and morality. A person who is capable of doing that should have their limbs chopped off and shot in the stomach just so they'd suffer before they die - and no one would miss them. That is all those people deserve. Resorting to physical violence is pretty much the worst possible offense, hitting someone merely to overpower them so they'd rather not fight back. Disgusting.

With that said, I actually don't think "rape" on its own (unconsentual sex) would be so terrible if it was actually about sex, and also it was vanilla heterosexual (P to V), there would be no STD transmission, it didn't cause pregnancy, and it had ZERO physical violence involved.
Alas, these conditions are hard to meet, and the violation of someone's wishes and autonomy is still conceptually wrong. But those conditions *would* make me a bit more lenient on the issue. I can't decide if that makes me terrible or not, though. I still wouldn't do it, but.. well, internally, I make a difference.

That, and for some reason I can actually create cultural rationalizations for how "rape" can be "right". You know, things like ""girls who wear provocative clothing, wear makeup and were intoxicated were dumb enough to take the risk - therefore if they hadn't been such dumbasses they wouldn't have had this happen to them, that and sluts like sex anyways so they got exactly what they wanted - attention and sex"". I used to believe those things when I was 15, it's odd. That was also the time when I thought females were a hivemind and there were specific things that "girls liked" to "make them want to be with you", and stuff like that.

It makes sense to be honest, even if you don't even completely agree with yourself about it.

I stand by my notion that people should not rape others though, and that I have voted A).

  • According to the state of CA, you are a rapist if you have (consensual) sex with an intoxicated girl. So by that legal standard, I rape constantly.

    • Are you intoxicated as well? and is she willing to have sex?

    • Yes, and yes. But apparently to them, those two factors don't matter.

    • Yup, stupid California rules will always be stupid.

  • When I was six, a much older male relative would often look after me while my parents were at work, and he would have me over and make me watch p*rn while he pleasures himself and touched me in place that made me horribly uncomfortable and would make me touch him, and I would cry so much that he'd pinch my skin. This happened for awhile.. when I turned seven, he raped me. Brutally. There was so much blood, I couldn't even walk after. He left me in his home to die, I suppose, but my parents came at some point and found me.. called the police and the ambulance. This relative committed suicide. I suffered from depression and anxiety afterwards, I was terrified of men, I couldn't sleep, I didn't want to eat, I had to go for professional help at a young age, and even now, I have trouble with it. But I'm getting there. The only men I trust are my fiancée, my father, my older brother and my grandfather.

    • Im am very sorry you had to experience something that terrible at such a young age. No one deserves to have a childhood ruined. My condolences go to you and your family. I can’t imagine how awful their reaction was when they found out. I hope you'll live a beautiful life for now on.

    • Aww :( my god...

    • Hardship is tossed to those who have an overwhelmingly powerful spirit. I'm so sorry you had to experience that, but it happened. I hope instead letting it drag you down it inspires you to achieve great things and lead an amazing life. You are a valiant soul for living through that. I pray for you and for strength people like you carry.

  • Nope, luckily I've never been rape and would never do this to anyone either. Why would I even think about doing something I would hate being done on me?

However, I once told my then bf something he refused to do. I made a suggestion to pretend I'm saying no and he's raping me (but only it's not real) and that if I really wanted him to get off me then I would tell him to really stop and mean it. He refused it.

  • Most perpetrators of sexual assault don't realize that they committed a crime. About 50% of rapes are date rapes and those perpetrators believe they were owed sex due to going on a date. Also if the person had too much to drink it also is considered rape by a court of law and the victim can press charges if they were taken advantage of in their altered state of mind but perpetrators don't see it that way.

    • See that law doesn’t make much sense to me because what if both are intoxicated. What! Does it automatically put blame on the man entirely? What kind of a fucked up law is that? What if the woman took advantage of the man?

    • No the law doesn't favor either gender. They'll investigate both parties and both claims to decide who to charge if anyone. My fiancé was drugged and date raped, and he had chosen to press charges so she was still blamed not him, even though she smoked as well.

  • a few articles i read mention a lot of rapists out there don't realize what they're doing is raping. they think they're doing something that makes sense and fits their presumed role in society when in actuality, it's rape and it's wrong. and that's why there's all this outrage over rape culture.

    • There's such thing as rape culture? Wow you learn something new everyday

    • That's because the definition of rape has been widened to ridiculous levels e. g. you can't legally consent to sex when drunk. I've had loads of sex when drunk, I don't consider myself a rape victim.

  • I have never raped or been raped before. And I hope I never have to experience something as horrible as rape. I doubt many people would admit it here though if they actually have raped someone...

  • Only in roleplay with a bf,

    • Better to hear that it happened for real.

  • fuck off, what kind of a question is that

    • Chill dude, its a very real question.

  • I'm a little surprised you didn't offer a both option

  • I was molested by my neighbor when I was in second grade. I was almost raped one year ago by a co-worker. I've been sexually harassed by so many guys it's not even funny. Most of them are co-workers... But I love my job so I just gotta be strong, right?

    • What is your job if you dont mind me asking

    • Im a firefighter/Emt

    • Ah yes that makes more sense now. Seems like men in that job would slide by harassment a bit easier than just the average office job.

  • I have never raped someone outside of video games.

I would love it if a hot girl would "surprise sex" me though. But I know it wouldn't be rape because I would want it.

    • ahhh... the mind of men. This is how you can tell women are the complete opposite.

  • I know it might sound shocking, but I've never raped someone.

  • Does playing rape count? Hand cuffs and blind fold. Taking turns. O. o

    • Like she would do that to me then I have a turn after xD The craziest thing is you don't know what she's doing to you and drives you insane

    • What kind of shit could she do? i mean besides slapping. i would imagine it doesn't go any further than what you already experienced in bed with her.

    • Well a lot of stuff.. like using ice? Carbonated water... etc.

  • I've never raped or been raped before, and i hope it won't happen. I did know a girl who got raped though, she was my friend.

    • was? hopefully she's still alive.

    • She killed herself the day after.

    • I was afraid you'd say that. It's usually within the following months they kill themselves.

  • Does it count if I did it in my dream?

    • it counts a lot.

  • I was accused of rape once. Never entered my mind to actually do it, though..

    • I gotta tell me about that story

    • well, I was a virgin. A girl invited me to her house for sex. I gave her a hickey, but didn't have sex with her because I was a nervous virgin. She needed some way to explain the hickey to her mom so she went next door to have sex with her neighbor and claimed that I raped her.

    • What a fucking trap bro. Women can be so cunning and dangerous.
