Guys do that all the time. We generally enjoy that type of humour. I just can't see a guy getting all serious and chastising you for being immature just because you're a girl. I know I wouldn't.
As for your other concern, do you really want a to be with a guy who would rule out a relationship with you because you made a dirty joke? If something you say can flip a switch in a guy's head that causes him to no longer view you as human, do you even want anything to do with an a**hole like that? Yes, some guys have a madonna/whore complex, should it be incumbent upon you to police your behavior to suit their prejudices?
The limit for sexual innuendo is (or at the very least should be) the same for girls as it is for guys: when it's done to such a degree that it seems tactless or socially awkward relative to the people you're talking to, you've gone too far. If you're in the company of guys who like dirty jokes, generally that's not easy to do.0 0 0 0Well, it depends on the guy you're talking to, whether that guy will judge or think of you as a sexual object.
But generally, guys like it when girls are funny! It doesn't matter whether the joke has sexual insinuations or not. In fact most guys would like it.
I for one prefer it that way, it just gives me a feeling that the girl is as sexual as I am, if not more!
So just be yourself, if you have something in mind, say it out loud. The other person should like you for what you're, without judging!0 0 0 0

"would it really be a turnoff if a girl turned something you say to her into a sexual joke?"
I think that may be one of the main reasons why I never got out of the friend zone in high school.
I'm really close with my dad, and he's very dirty-minded, which has rubbed onto me... so most times, I'll automatically think something dirty when someone says something. It's annoying, yet entertaining at the same time.0 0 0 0You should open up and share your humor with them. I don't think anyone cares that much when they are hearing funny stuff sexual or not.

0 2It certainly wouldn't make me view you as just a sexual object, not sure where you're getting that idea from. If the jokes are really puerile and immature they would probably get annoying after a while. Sometimes instead of pointing an obvious double entendre out verbally you could just nudge him or wink and smile at him. A guy's mind isn't often too far from sex, so if you noticed it he likely noticed it too. Be subtle and not loud or obnoxious.
0 0 0 0"I keep my jokes to myself because 1) I fear that it would make guys think of me only as a sexual object." I assume you are a woman, you are in fact a sexual object.
