Do certain tastes or smells trigger a memory for you?

I’m drinking a diet Dr. Pepper (tastes just like the original!) and it reminded me of the time I gave my first bj 20 years ago and he offered me a Dr. Pepper. He’s always been so gentlemanly. 😊

  • Of course!! Sounds, smells, tastes, touches, sights.
You shouldn't drink anything diet!! In the first place, it actually makes you fat! In the second place, it has aspartame in it!! When you drink that garbage, your body turns it into formaldehyde!! As your body can't get rid of formaldehyde, you're, basically, embalming yourself!!

    • Wellll i’m following weight watchers and no aspartame :)

    • Did you check the ingredients on the can? And, like I said, diet only makes you fat! I worked with a girl for 11 years and she always drank diet and never lost an ounce!! But, you do what you wanna do. I alerted you. That's the best I can do.

    • K. Cool. I lost 50 lbs on weight watchers. So i do diet. Splenda, xylitol, stevia, all good. I avoid aspartame thank you very much.

  • Yes, I do not have any connection with Dr Pepper but the part of the brain that handles memory is very close to the part that handles the olfactory sense.
When I smell the exhaust from a two cycle engine I think about my old outboard motor.

  • I envy you... That you found the perfect love.. A lifetime of love with the first person...

    • We are fighting rn. But thanks. 😑

    • Fighting is one of the 3 major signs that a couple is in love..

    • Lmao. Cool. He threw me under the bus in front of the kids. I’m not happy about it.

  • Yeah, these are the only two

The smell of a freshly lit cigarette reminds me of my maternal grandparents ditto a fresh pack of rolling tobacco

Chanel Mademoiselle or Turkish delight remind me of an ex-girlfriend and also the factory I visited in Turkey when I was 5

  • Don't you have life beyond
BJ. Pussy. Dick. ? Poor lady 😘

    • Did you read my mytake?

    • Why should I read your my take?

    • Because it’s not about pussy or dick, duh. Unless you want to call my former employers dicks, which they are.

  • A lot has to do with cooking, for me.

My mom baking scratch brownies was always nice.
And when she fried bacon, that was great since we didn't often have it because it was expensive.
Lastly, when she made fritters (batter fried in oil) and apple fritters (apple slice, batter, fry) that really created an aroma in the house. And she'd always brew a pot of hot tea to help "keep the fats dissolved".

  • New carpet.
Takes me back to the principal's office where he used to beat me.
I still have flashbacks, a sudden nervous feeling in my gut just for a second.

    • Awww. That is not a good memory. 😞

    • Wow, I didn't notice this was under sexuality... Cinnamon buns remind me of the witch I dated for 3 months. Her pussy had the slightest taste of sweet cinnamon. The 38 year old woman (who's daughter had the hots for me), green olives. I see the scene of her laying on her back and me devouring her, she tasted like green olives. I mentioned it, she said it was because she was Italian...🙄. One girlfriend, she smelled like day old nervous sweat... right out of the shower. I still ate her pussy. But if I'm working all day and drenched in sweat and didn't use any deodorant and I catch a whiff of myself... it reminds me of her fresh clean pussy... that smelled like old sweat. Did I say I still ate her pussy?

  • Raspberries always give me a flash back. Nothing sexual. Just reminds me of family

    • Awww. That’s sweet. Like picking raspberries?

    • Yes. I use to pick them on my grandmothers farm early in the morning with her

    • I love that!

  • Shea butter body lotion used to always remind me of having sex with my ex because that was her body lotion. But it just reminds me of her now. Not so sexual.

    • Hey, you asked a question about my troll 10 inch penis question. Did you see my tag to the source? Lol

    • Lol! I didn't. I will go look it up though.

  • Oreos. Remembered eating oreos with my grandfather at his house every night on our vacation week and it became part of eating them from that point on.

    • That is a nice memory!

    • One of the few 🖤

    • I’m sorry to hear that. But happy you have some good ones.

  • Haha... what a memory!

  • A certain cologne smell reminds me of my Dad.

    • My dad wears English Leather. When I smell it I think of him. But he is still alive.

    • I don't remember the name of the cologne my Dad wore but I know the smell. Sometimes, I can be in my house or where nobody is around and I'll smell it. My Dad passed away 19 years ago. It seems like it just happened last year.

    • I get that. ❤️

  • One smell I never forget was an ex’s perfume. She was like a high school girlfriend. It’s not like a sexual thing but she just had a unique perfume. And I loved it. That the one thing that really reminds me on one thing. I smell it every blue moon but it’s different than most. I don’t know what it is but she got it at Nordstrom.

  • Yeah always

  • oh yess absolutely. i think its because our olfactory glands go straight into our brains. its like a direct line to it

  • Wow. I do remember smells and tastes

    • Like what?

    • Like the rain in the air brings me back to me in my youth waking up in the summertime morning while it is raining. Being cozy and warm while the cold dark rain is pounding at my window. Mmmmm

  • My mom use to wear a perfume by Clinique
When I smell that I get bad PTSD. She use to wear that going to work (She was an RN for 55 years) and the smell of Dominos pizza which I blame on my ex

  • It doesn't taste the same as the original. Try both simotaniousky.

  • Yeahhh so much that it sends flashbacks

  • Yes. especially the sensory smell reminds me of my childhood days
