They still do try to keep me from masturbating even now, when I'm a 29yr old grown man, more than 11 years older than my mum was when she absconded to marry my dad. But she nags me incessantly about "being pure" and grills me about it literally every time I bring up wanting to have a girlfriend- I'm still a virgin, the ONLY one of my siblings and cousins who still is- asking me "you aren't thinking about anything dirty, are you? In modern times I think it is pretty isolated. My parents certainly never did anything like that. My mom once walked in on me while I was masturbating, she didn't say anything then or ever after but afterward always knocked on my door first.
Remember that everybody's parents are different and that each house is different. 1. There may be more to the story than what your friend is telling you. She may be openly masturbating in t he presence of a younger brother; if she was doing something like that, she wouldn't tell you.
2. Removing locks from her bedroom door is an extreme measure but, again, we don't know their side of the story.

1. Most people did not own slaves and that was abolished in 1865. 2. People bathed themselves as they were able but they did not have plumbing on their houses so that they could take baths on a daily basis. That does not make them stupid. 3. Your friend says that she tells you everything but that doesn't mean that she actually does. Aren't their some intimate details of your life that you do not mention to any friend.
