Were all women able to orgasm via intercourse before the vibrator became a thing?

its been said that only 25% of women in the world are able to orgasm via intercourse alone and it seems like the vibrator is the only sex toy that can make a woman orgasm. but what about before the vibrator became a thing? was the magic number still 25 back then?

according to this article I was reading out of boredom the vibrator was invented in the 1880s but was not used as a sex toy until the 1970s.

so I was wondering htf did the other 75% of women were able to orgasm before the vibrator came to their rescue in the 1970s?

  • No vibrators did not influence this.
Quite some women can't orgasm through penetration, however there are multiple ways they can.
Often through stimulation of the clitoris.
This on its own isn't enough most of the time.
A woman's body reacts to a plethora of stimuli.
A lot of women only orgasm if you meet certain criteria.
Feeling safe, feeling comfortable, submission, domination, vibration, friction, speed, heat, cold, pain, dirty talk, role play, sensation deprivation, hightened senses.
Every woman is unique and needs different things.
Some like getting fingered, some like oral stimulation, nipples, anal, vibrator, dildo, electro stimulation.
There are gels and sprays for both increased and decreased sensitivity.
    Some women like grinding.
None of these things changed through the ages.
We only made advances in technology enabling them to both find gratification themselves and to be brought to orgasm through means other than vanilla sex.
Also because these days we have the internet it's easier for women and men to learn more.
There are 2 things men in general tend to do wrong.
    1. The man doesn't listen to his partner, neither through words nor reactions.
    2. A lot of men are selfish. Not taking the time for foreplay and not prioritizing his partner. It's a lot harder for a woman to orgasm. Take your time and make sure she gets to orgasm.

Tldr no, vibrators only made orgasm easier, here is a bunch of factors.

  • The statistic is that fewer than 25% of women ever have an orgasm from PIV alone.
Fingering and Oral can do much better and modern high-technology can as well.

  • Its very possible to cum without a vibe but they are fun and helpful because they make orgasms stronger. I'm sure back before toys women still had their ways of getting off

  • Most women can orgasm using their hands/fingers. Vibrators simply get one to the end point a bit quicker.

    • yeah I assumed that throughout time women have gotten so used and dependent on vibrators that everything else, including the real thing became useless to them

    • Not to forget skilled cunnilingus.

  • I don't know how much it was before but definitely wasn't 100%.

I think it's a non question. For example I can orgasm from intercourse but not vaginally with a toy/ dildo.

Also can't compare numbers about different things. Orgasming through intercourse or external use of a toy.

  • No, some women never had an orgasm.

  • Some women never have an orgasm until they are 30 or 40. Not with themselves or with a vibrator. An ex of mine stopped having orgasms after she started taking birth control.

  • No. The orgasm wasn’t a thing back then. A woman’s duty was to service her husband and breed.
