According to police reports and psychologists who have studied them, it's always about power
Their motive has to do with power and control. Any sexual behavior used by the rapist, is only a medium for their end.
One recent example I stumble on, has to do with the recent news of a prolific writer who killed his self, after been accused of rape by one of his victims, which did it, anonymously.
Before he did so, he apologyzed on Instagram, then killed himself.
Did he really apologyzed? Nah, all the times he refered to his crimes with uncertainty, saying: "maybe I did this, did that". He used pompous expressions and never refered directly to his victims. His suicide was his last egocentric action. No one else than him was gonna be the judge of his crimes. It was a matter of control. Controlling his faith, rather than give himself to the police and assume all the consequences of the lifetime damage he caused.
It's one through the other. Sexual gratification is the more powerful force driving the actions here but it is only fulfilled through power/sadism.
The majority of rapists target women of a different religious, ethnic, or economic class than themselves; with economic rape being the most sophisticated with its multitude of pressures to apply to the victim. Many popular entertainers such as Miley Cyrus would be examples of this kind of rape.
I think it's one for some, the other for some, and both for others.
But the motivation doesn't really matter. If you rape, you should get the death penalty, period. It doesn't matter why you did it.
Why are women so obsessed with criminals.
No idea. I've not read much from the psychologists who have actually studied these people.
Rape is about control and power.
Hard to tell with my brain working nothing like theirs. I assume it varies with the individuals, just like any other motive.
Rape is a crime of violence. It therefore stands to reason that its chief motivation is Power, or, more correctly, the sadistic abuse of it.
I think it's a combination of both
Pure control of a helpless victim brings a rush psychologically. It has nothing to do with sex.
Most rapist that I have seen being question is more due sexual pleasure. Not to many care for power, if they were power hungry than simply kidnapping and making you do stuff along with rape would have been better. So I think their just horny and lonely or mentally unstable
I don't have any evidence to back it up but I think it's most likely a rapist would be created the same way a child abuser is created: childhood trauma (in this case sexual abuse) and learning that what is being done to them is an act of love.

When i was 15 i thought about raping a girl because she was walking in a field all alone, with a dog. I wanted to show her how arrogant she was and how weak and vulnerable she was.
Rape isn't good, im not condoning it. But arrogance from females, the most vulnerable creatures in society, still triggers me.
how arrogant she was? even if she told you to get lost it is clearly your issue. the you'll show her attitude hilarious and self centered/entitled for not getting attention you were so eager to have from her. you are really the insecure weak one mentally. if a girl not giving you attention"triggers" you seek therapy and get help for your issue. also look up the meaning of arrogance from your own post she was walking in a field with her dog.
