I think the power control thing is basically bullshit. It's about sex, and there is ample evidence for that.
Id say its about the sex. It might seem easier to rape instead figuring out how to get the girls consent. You dont have to impress them or connect with them in anyway.
Its not about sex like everyone thinks. Of course sexual arousal is needed but thats secondary to them. Its more like they use it as a weapon to hurt their victim.
If rape was about sex more guys would be doing it. The only type thats for gratifaction is date rape or statutory rape. Otherwise rape is complex and every rapist has a different motive. Its not straight forward.

Did search up what's behind rape once when i was bored out of my mind, and from what i remember turns out it's usually mainly about sexual sadism (as in they want to genuinly hurt you really bad, either mentally or physically, or both, because they LOVE it sexually. they know it's not consentual and that it's a crime, but they don't give a shit, they just want to get off to their kinks), and even when it's not (it can also be about revenge, getting your emotions out on someone, sexual frustration, hating women, exc..) , it's one of the main reasons
