  • Only someone who really hasn't thought about it would want that. Right away all that does is create more unregulated and blackmarket stuff which would be way worse. Which how's that helpful?

Then the purpose is bad anyway, it's healthy to masturbate healthy, to be stimulated, healthy to stay at home watch a video than need a strip club or a escort (Which by the way I have no problems with either sex work is fine by me just watching porn is safer and cheaper), it gives an outlet for people be sexual without need to be creeps IRL a lot of people like weird things that can only be found in porn if that's taken away all the sudden they expect it from their partner.
There is so many more points but these alone already invalidate any arguments for banning it.

  • There’s no reason for it to be banned. In fact, it does a lot for the economy and society, even population control. Most consumers of porn are of course, men. Without porn, rape and sexual assault rates will skyrocket. The population will also skyrocket as with no outlet of self pleasure, men will resort to having a lot more sex, increasing the population. Not to mention, how profitable the porn industry is. Over 1 billion dollars within it.
At the end of the day, porn is a vice. Same with alcohol, drugs, gambling, fast food, internet addiction etc. which are generally fine to do in moderation, and most people watch porn in moderation. I don’t watch porn but used to, and my mind has changed none from watching or not watching it. I’m still going to masturbate either way.

    • And even if it is a "vice" the only person it hurts is the one who indulges in it, unlike some of the others you mention here, like alcohol and drugs (which in my view should be banned).

    • @Siri137 I’m sorry, what is the point of your comment because I’m not really seeing one.

    • My point is that the only one who could possibly be harmed by it is the one who uses/watches it (unlike other things, like drugs).

  • I don't watch it. If others do, then fine. It is called self control.

    • It's not self control, you probably have a boyfriend and he satisfies your sexual needs...

    • Yeah it is. Apparently, you are not familiar with the concept. You have a choice. Watch or don't. That is YOUR choice, and your's alone. If you can't control yourself then no self control. Guess again on the boyfriend.

    • @goku1001 @abbycado I think both of you should have a conversation and try to understand why the other thinks as they do. Neither one of you is dumb. There is a reason @goku1001 believes it is beyond self-discipline. Odds are women cannot actually understand what it's like entirely as a man. - Do men have the innate ability to control their sexual urges consistently? - Is it stronger than women's urge for sex? - Does the world have a self-control problem and why is that? I know 100% @abbycado is correct. However, I don't think she knows why she is correct. I don't think she can teach someone how to apply their innate ability known as self-control. I'm just guessing she can't because most don't know. @goku1001 You believe it's beyond self-control it sounds like. If this is so, it is because you don't understand self-control. People who struggle with self-control are not using self control even though they think they are. They think they are just weak in that department but they aren't. A porn addict who is stuck is ignorant of how self control actually works.

  • Ultimately no, I don't think the government should have that right to tell you that you can't watch this. That said I don't think people should. I recently stopped and it was very difficult. It fucks up your dopamine and it really fucks up pubescent kids expectations of sex, especially in boys.

I think the education and warning should be the responsibility of the parent, not the state. Parents need to take responsibility for their children and actually teach them the things they need to understand and the hard topics. Not the government controlling you nor some school teacher whom you don't know and likely shouldn't trust

  • Hell no. I love seeing monster cocks in porn. Gives me inspiration to find some in real life to conquer.

    • Hahaha 😂 best answer ever

    • Amen girl!! I love your answer.

    • @Tamera952 Someone had to say what a lot of us were thinking! =]

  • People should have the right to read or watch whatever they want without judgement and nobody should be forced to watch or read that material either.

  • There are many other things that can be classified as harmful (e. g., alcohol.) If we give government the power to protect us from ourselves by banning harmful things, then our liberty is but an illusion.

  • "Since research has shown..."

Shown what? Nothing, that's what! Research has also "shown" that computer games make people violent, and make them commit school shootings, except... yeah, there is no such research either. It's a myth that people like to trot out when they want to create the next moral panic.

  • Yes I do, it's prostitution and prostitution is illegal. They just get away with it cuz they call it art. It's also extremely damaging to people who watch it so many get addicted to it and many are and don't realize it because they think there is nothing wrong with it. Look at the brain scans of someone that watches a lot of porn it looks identical to a drug addict brain scan.

    • Prostitution isn't illegal in many parts of the world, so are you really going to base your argument on that?

    • If it's "extremely damaging to people who watch it', then that's THEIR problem, not yours.

    • It is not prostitution, you moron. And it’s not extremely damaging — it exists, because people WANT IT and LIKE IT. Just because you have a problem with it, then that’s your problem…fuck off.

  • boyfriend and I watch and look for new stuff to try. So I'm gonna say no

  • Only in certain countries.

  • Yes, it should. I literally don't know any guy who isn't currently or has been suffering from porn addiction since a young age.

    • Ohhh please…. Gimme a break. Boo hoo, ….

  • Yes porn melts our brains. It's not good for us. Really all technology in general isn't good for us. It's made to keep us anti social and dumb.

The only good porn is if you make it with your partner and watch it as a memory type of thing. Or sexting cause it's more one on one and builds a connection

  • No of course not, pretty crazy idea. People have the option to watch it or not. It is as someone suggested about self control. I chose not to watch it and most of the stuff I have seen is boring.

  • No, legalized prostitution reduce rape rates, it logical to believe that porn does so as well.

  • I don’t watch. It desensitizes a lot of aspects in terms of relationships

    • Bullshit! …. it spices it up, and makes for fun

    • @Tamera952 then keep watching.

    • I intend to, thanks

  • No, but I do think some of the cheaply produced artificial foods that companies sell these days are causing people to go insane.. It's those I'd ban!

  • Are you out of your mind? …hell no.

  • Banning things, especially means of expression, is generally what dictators do.

  • Unethical porn yes. Ethical porn is both healthier to participate in and to view. Also being behind a paywall makes it harder for children to access.

    • Oh come on, …live a little. Take the stick out your ass. And you clearly don’t know shit about kids either apparently.

    • @Tamera952 what makes you say that?

  • Only fans has sort of flipped the industry. No longer are they able to push plastic porn (which was the damaging version) when the girl or guy next door can make her own video and be making money off it in an hour.

  • Yes. Porn is a despicable and unholy cancer in our world.

  • I love watching porn.

    • What’s your fave

    • @jjj101010 amateur homemade incest hehe

  • If we censor things we don’t like or agree with what makes of different from china or Russia?

    • Why do you want to be different from them? Moreover, it's about being ethical...

    • If we force religious beliefs on people , there’s no religious freedom.
