I have never used a plug. It's inanimate and does nothing for me. But insertibles working by hand motion or automatically are completely different. And you only use them during sex or masturbation. They are not left in place for an extended time.

It crowds the prostate and gives it something to brace against during ejaculation, making it stronger, You don't have a prostate, however...
