While waiting six weeks is most often recommended, at LEAST wait four weeks, as (again) most women experience vaginal tearing, and an episiotomy is usually performed to prevent “lateral tearing” that could require major surgery to repair. @CrazyGirl2 the docs can clear a woman eariler if they go in. With my 2nd I got cleared at 2 weeks even tho I was still bleeding from birth. It's cuz doctors are lazy and don't want to have 2, 4 and 6 week appointments. Most insurances won't cover those appointments either. Also I've never had tearing so that's probably why it's not a issue for me. It's only important for c section moms to wait 6 weeks cuz infection can happen more easily
