That's not healthy, that's possessive and controlling. If something your partner does bothers you, you talk to them, explain why you feel that way. You do not say you don't "let" them do it anymore.

I find it completely naive to assume that you should always trust your partner's judgement without any question, or that you should never challenge their intentions. Of course their judgment is not always on point, and neither is mine. Plenty of people recognize and accept just as you said, that a partnership is a compromise, and that entails yielding your own actions to the other's objection. I don't think "trust", or "control" is the way to go. I think that is a very black and white way of looking at it. Respect and compromise is somewhere between those two extremes and that's where most people develop their relationships. Scary as it is, that includes the power of veto if need be. You don't have to yield to it, but you will risk damaging the relationship. The veto exists to prevent damage, not to be cruel.

This whole time I was merely arguing against the phrasing and the behavior that would go with it. It's all about the right way of communicating things between you and your partner. If you want your partner to repsect your wishes, then you have to communicate that in a respectful way. To "not let" your partner do something, is not a respectful way to go about it.
